Though it's clear that understanding the origins of rock n' roll means looking back to blues artists such as Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, and Little Richard, there's no doubt that Elvis Presley had an enormous influence both on music and culture of the mid-20th century.

In fact, many artists that we know and love today have gone on record to say that they owe a lot of their artistry to Elvis, which is why it makes sense that there will be a two-hour long tribute to the "king of rock" on February 17th.

The special, titled "Elvis All-Star Tribute", will air on NBC and feature a variety of modern-day musicians covering some of the King's most well-known hits. Fronting the event is a strong entourage of country stars such as Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Pistol Annies, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Dierks Bentley, and Kelsea Ballerini.

It won't be the first time some of these artists have worked together! Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, for example, worked on the hit song "The Fighter" together.

However, the roster won't stop there: stars such as Yolanda Adams, Josh Groban, John Legend, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, and even Ed Sheeran will be stopping by to showcase their appreciation for the work of Elvis.

This is an incredible line-up and we can't wait to see what will happen once the artists hit the stage on February 17th. It's clear that the work of Elvis has had an enormous impact on the work of many people, but what will be most interesting about this TV event is seeing just how each artist will choose to pay their tribute through song.

Because of how many distinctly different stylistic approaches there will be on stage, it's clear that we'll be seeing the work of Elvis through many different perspectives.
