Country music lovers do not often get to enjoy seeing three legends of the game share the stage at the same time. However, this is a dream come true that took place for an audience recently that attended a concert to benefit the country music Hall of Fame and museum.

Country music icon Dolly Parton was joined on stage by Keith Urban and Vince Gill. The audience was treated by the three legends to an unforgettable rendition of a popular country music tune.

The song, 'He Stopped Loving Her Today,' was made famous by George Jones and tells the story of a man that never lost faith in a love that was lost long ago. Despite the years that passed, the man continued to look back upon the keepsakes that remained to commemorate the love of his life. The heartbroken man would never give up hope that his love would return to him. He convinced himself that one day he and his love would forget the painful memories of their lost past and move on together with their lives.

The song was written by Curly Putman and Bobby Braddock and ends with the explanation that there was a day his love for her ended. It was the day he died. And on that day, the love of his life returned to him. She attended his funeral. The trio of Vince, Dolly, and Keith was able to convey the message of the song perfectly to their audience. The audience watched with awe at every note that came from the three singers. The crowd erupted in applause at the culmination of the performance.

It was evident to all in attendance that what they had witnessed was of a magnitude that would only be experienced once in a lifetime. It is fortunate for all of us that one audience member immortalized the performance on video for all of us to enjoy. We can only dream of a day that we will see these three legends of country music onstage together again.
