Nicole Kidman is an American-born Australian actress who has received many accolades throughout her inspiring career. She has received 5 Golden Globe awards, two Primetime Emmys, and an Academy Award from four nominations. In 2006, 2018, and 2019 Kidman was the highest-paid actress in Hollywood. In 2020, Kidman was deemed one of the top five greatest actors of the 21st Century by The New York Times.

She began her career in 1983 and is best known for her roles in the films "Eyes Wide Shut," "The Hours," which earned her the Academy Award for best actress, and "Moulin Rouge!" She is also an accomplished television star, with her most successful role being in "Big Little Lies." The series earned her two Emmy awards, one for her acting and another for being an executive producer.

Kidman has been married to country singer Keith Urban since 2006. Urban released his self-titled debut album in 1991. He moved to the United States the following year and found work as a session guitarist for the band The Ranch. He later signed to Capitol Records and released his first American album in 1999, which was also self-titled. The album would go on to be certified platinum in the US by the RIAA and produce Urban's first number-one song on the Billboard Country charts.

The couple met at G'Day LA, an event to honor Australians living in Los Angeles. Their relationship began a few years after Kidman finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. Kidman and Urban were married in Sydney, Australia, in 2006. Despite the couple being together for over 15 years, they still are madly in love as when they first met.

The couple met back in 2005. In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2013, Kidman said they met at the perfect time. "I would probably say that two very lonely people managed to meet at a time when they could open themselves to each other," she said

The pair met at a gala, and she told Ellen Degeneres on "The Ellen Degeneres Show," that she was bummed when Urban never reached out to her after meeting that night.

"I remember thinking I had such a crush on him and he wasn't interested in me...He didn't call me for four months," the actress said. However, while Kidman anticipated his call— Urban said he didn't think she was interested. While appearing on "Interview" in 2018, Urban said he never believed she would go for him.

"I thought she was way out of my league. Of course," Urban said. "It's not an, 'oh shucks, oh me' story, it's legit - I mean, I'm a kid from Brissie, I went to Nashville ... somewhere along the line I end up meeting Nic," he admitted. "I might have a wild imagination of possibilities in life, obviously, but not in a million years did I think that somebody like that would be interested in me. At all," he said.

The couple debuted their romance not long after meeting at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards in February. They announced in May of 2006 that they were engaged. The couple married in a chapel in Manly, Australia.

A source from the wedding told People, "It was the most emotional and beautiful ceremony." They added, "But when Nicole and Keith looked at each other it was like they were the only two people in the room. They are so deeply in love. It was the most incredible wedding."

Together Kidman and Urban share two children. Sunday Rose was born in July 2008, and Faith Margaret in December 2010. While Kidman and Urban have admitted that they are very much in love, they also admit their relationship has not been easy. Urban went to rehab and admitted that Kidman was a huge reason for his sobriety success.

"Life-changing, life-changing, absolutely," the star told Entertainment Tonight in 2021. After sobriety struggles, Urban was able to pull himself out of a dark place. He landed himself a Las Vegas residency in 2021.

While on a podcast, "The Big Talk Show," in 2022, Urban said, "We're just a couple who work things out, go through things together, life, and support each other the best way we can and try and raise our family."

Kidman has said that the couple has come through everything better on the other side.

"We were in a very, very, very bad, painful place, and have managed to step through it, and I hope that gives some people some hope who may be in the same place," Kidman said

"And that's enough said. Anything else is overindulgent and unnecessary right now. And I think it jinxes it, in a way, and that's why I don't go on about my enormous feelings for this man," the star added.

Kidman and Urban have been married for over 15 years now. Through divorces, children, sobriety struggles, and being famous— they have survived it all. The two are an inspiration to not only couples in Hollywood but the whole world.
