More recently, Reeves was on a flight to Los Angeles when an emergency required the plane to be redirected. Reeves would not think of leaving fellow passengers in the middle of nowhere for who knows how long.

Instead, he rented a minibus and had them embark on a road trip with him.

Social media chimed in on the gesture and proclaimed the actor to be one of the best people imaginable.

And yes, there were a few jokes about his role in the movie 'Speed.'

Shia LeBeouf was also joined by strangers on a road trip. In his case, the road trip was part of an art project but that did not change the genuineness of the gesture.

Reeves was flying United Airlines from San Francisco to Los Angeles when the plane on which he traveled was diverted to Bakersfield. The unexpected stop placed him a little more than 100 miles from his destination.

Reeves could have easily done the expected thing and called a private limousine service.

But he favored the idea of renting a bus so that all passengers of the plane can reach their destinations. The irony was not missed on the passengers that his character in speed rescued a bus full of people.

Shia Lebouf decided to join artists Luke Turner and Nastja Rönkkö on a full month road trip. The destination: Anywhere. The trio filmed the journey and a documentary of the trip was released to the public soon after. During the journey, the three travelers explored a number of unexpected places.

The project was also meant to examine the similarities and differences between physical and digital communications.
