Actor Keanu Reeves is one of Hollywood’s finest men – and he’s also one of Hollywood’s nicest. On top of having a reputation for being so kind, Reeves is also a bona fide action star whose filmography speaks for itself. Some of his most well-known works include the “John Wick” and “The Matrix” franchises, as well as plenty of films in various genres like romantic comedies, dramas and thrillers.

There are plenty of examples out there that show just why Reeves is considered such a nice guy. From offering his seat on the subway for a stranger and the various moments he’s shared with homeless people on the streets, listening to their stories, to the many donations he’s given to charities, Reeves is the epitome of a stand-up citizen. Reeves has also taken the time to show his cast and crew members on the films he’s been a part of just how much they mean to him and how much he respects them and their time.

Reeves has been through plenty of hardships in his life, but he has continuously bounced back and come back stronger than ever. He has always left a great impression on those he interacts with, whether it be in his longtime friendships with Sandra Bullock and Drew Barrymore, or his beautiful romantic relationship with his current partner Alexandra Grant.

Reeves has continued to have a great reputation in Hollywood and is still going out of his way to make the day of any fan, friend or stranger that comes his way. Once again, Reeves expressed his down-to-earth nature when he played ball with a young fan in Houston. Get more details below.

Although widely known as an actor, Reeves’ expression of art goes beyond featuring in movies. He is also a musician and a director. Reeves' acting career took off in 1984 when he starred in a small role in the Canadian sitcom “Hangin' In.” He went on to feature in several film projects, including “Brotherhood of Justice,” “River's Edge,” "The Prince of Pennsylvania,” and “Permanent Record,” among others. But it wasn’t until 1989 that he got his breakout role in “Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure” before reprising his role in the 1991 sequel "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.”

After experiencing breakthroughs in acting, Reeves took an interest in making music and kicked off his music career by forming a band called Dogstar. Dogstar was an alternative rock band with four founding members, including Reeves, Robert Mailhouse, Gregg Miller and Bret Domrose. In 1995, the band embarked on an extensive tour around the US and Asia, even opening for David Bowie at his 1995 Hollywood Palladium gig.

Miller eventually left the band at the end of their tour, and in 1996, the remaining three members released their debut album titled “Our Little Visionary.” This was followed by a second album titled “Happy Ending” after which the band broke up. In 2022, two decades after they went their separate ways, the band announced their reemergence through their Instagram page.

Barely a year after the announcement, they performed publicly for the first time in over a decade at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival. This was followed by the release of their single "Everything Turns Around," and the commencement of their North America and Japan tour, and the release of their third album, “Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees.”

On Sept. 25, 2023, Reeves and the rest of the Dogstar band were in Houston, Texas, to perform at their show at the House of Blues. Before the show, “The Matrix” star took time to meet his fans, who were excited to see him play. While it was indeed a memorable experience for his fans, it was an especially magical one for 9-year-old Elijah.

According to Khou, Elijah’s grandmother, Annette Cruz, took him and his 11-year-old brother Caleb to see “The Matrix” star when they heard he was in town. Cruz, who loved to meet celebrities and had met about a hundred, including Kevin Hart, Jeremy Renner, and Post Malone, waited with her grandsons outside the venue of the band’s event.

Their hours of waiting paid off when the Dogstar band finally arrived. Although the boys didn’t recognize Reeves immediately, their excitement peaked once they figured he was the one.

“He like came out, and I didn’t expect his hair to be like a little white," Caleb said. "I knew his hair was long but I didn’t expect it to be white."

The boys proceeded to make requests of the “John Wick” star, asking him for his signatures. After Reeves appended his signature, Elijah, who was holding onto a ball, asked Reeves to play with him, a request to which he obliged. Needless to say, the moment will remain with Elijah forever.

“This is the football I threw with him. I’m keeping it forever and ever," Elijah said.

Cruz noted that Reeves' actions will always be memorable to Elijah.

“I was surprised he did it, and then he said, 'hey, he’s got a great spiral.' I'm like thanks. I said, 'that’s a day he’s always going to remember,'" Cruz said.

Although Caleb didn’t play ball with Reeves, he got the chance to take a selfie with him.
