Kate Middleton’s Birth Stories Of Her Three Children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis

Jun 11, 2021 by apost team

Kate Middleton is known for many things as a senior member of the royal family; from her impeccable taste in fashion to her passion for causes, Kate has proven herself to be an excellent queen consort in the making. However, her role as a mother to her three children, Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, has made her a fan favorite as well. Kate has beautifully balanced her duties of her work and of her motherhood well.

Kate did not have the easiest pregnancies because she suffered from severe pregnancy sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum with each pregnancy. This condition causes severe nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and possibly dehydration, and makes the whole experience of pregnancy very challenging.

In fact, USA Today reported that Kate had to announce her pregnancy with Louis much earlier than the usual 12-week mark due to a hospital stint for the condition that caused her to miss a royal engagement.

ABC Australia reported that the duchess spoke for the first time ever on the podcast "Happy Mum, Happy Baby" with Giovanna Fletcher in February 2020, where she opened up about her pregnancy experiences. In the interview, she told Fletcher that she used hypnobirthing techniques to treat her severe morning sickness.

She also opened up about the experience and said, that her pregnancy was "utterly rottenI was really sick, I wasn't eating the things I should be eating, but yet the body was still able to take all the goodness from my body and to grow new life, which I think was fascinating."

In fact, Kate disliked the severe sickness so much that she said she preferred labor over it! "Because it had been so bad during pregnancy, I actually really liked labour, because it was an event that I actually knew there was going to be an ending to," the duchess stated. She also added that labor is "not for everybody. No pregnancy is the same, no birth is the same." However, no matter what, Kate loves being a mother to her wonderful children.

Prince George's Birth

It was announced that William and Kate were expecting their first child on 3 December 2012, and the news came in early during her first pregnancy due to her hyperemesis gravidarum needing hospital treatment. Prince George was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London on July 22, 2013. The little cherub weighed 8lb 6oz and Hello Magazine reported that Kate is said to have delivered him naturally.

She opened up about the moment of George's birth on Fletcher's podcast and recalled, "Amazing, amazing. It is extraordinary as I've said. How can the human body do that? It is utterly extraordinary, actually. And he was very sweet. And also sort of relieved that he was a happy, healthy boy."

However, the experience of presenting Geroge to the public was also "slightly terrifying" for the duchess, although the couple was "hugely grateful for the support that the public has shown us, and actually for us to share that joy and appreciation with the public was equally important. But equally, it was coupled with a newborn baby and inexperienced parents and the uncertainty about what that held. So there were all sorts of mixed emotions."

Princess Charlotte's Birth

Kate's second pregnancy was announced on 8 Sept. 2014. She suffered from severe morning sickness once again, which needed hospital treatment. The Duchess sadly could not attend Prince George's first day of school due to the condition. Princess Charlotte was born on 2 May 2015 weighing almost exactly as much as her brother at 8lb 3oz.

Kate opened up about using hypnobirthing techniques during her pregnancy, and told Fletcher, "I really realized the power of the mind over the body, because I really had to try everything and anything to help me through it," the Duchess said. She also added, "I saw the power of it, really, the meditation and the deep breathing and things like that that they teach you in hypnobirthing when I was really sick and actually I realized that this was something that I could take control of, I suppose, during labour. It was hugely powerful."

Prince Louis' Birth

Kate and William announced their third pregnancy on 4 September 2017. Just like his older siblings, little Louis was born at the Lindo Wing at London's St. Mary's Hospital. His birth announcement read, "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well." Interestingly, Louis is the first male-born heir who would not precede his older sister in the royal succession.

It's hard to believe that Louis is already three years old and already starting nursery! For his third birthday on April 23, 2021, the royal couple followed tradition, commemorating their son’s birthday by uploading a snapshot of the birthday boy to social media
