Kate Middleton looked chic as she stepped off the plane in Islamabad's Pakistani Air Force Base Nur Khan to begin her and Prince William’s 7-day tour of Pakistan. The duchess’ outfit choice was a subtle nod to Princess Diana as she arrived for the royal occasion.

The mother of three was glowing in a turquoise shalwar-kameez by fashion designer Catherine Walker. The outfit is the national dress of Pakistan which includes a long gown over pants. The ombre shift of the turquoise color appearing lighter towards Kate’s torso and then getting darker towards her feet gave the dress an effortless appeal.

The 37-year-old teamed the dress with diamond dangling earrings and nude heels. The designer, Catherine Walker, was one of Princess Diana’s favorites. Walker had designed more than 1,000 items for the late princess including the gown Diana was buried in according to The National.

Kate and William are making their tour in Pakistan education-focused. Kensington Palace released a statement saying: “Throughout the tour, Their Royal Highnesses will visit programs which empower young people, and organizations that help ensure they have the best possible start in life,” the Palace wrote. “Access to quality education, particularly to girls and young women is one of the UK’s top priorities in Pakistan. The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to spending time meeting young Pakistanis, and hearing more about their aspirations for the future.”
