Kate Middleton has undoubtedly become one of the most charming members of the royal family in recent memory. From her early days as Duchess of Cambridge to her present stature as Princess of Wales, Kate has attracted millions of fans around the globe.
Kate’s every move — including her duties as a wife and mother as well as her sense of style in various royal engagements — simply captivates. In fact, she has evolved into what Vogue described as one of the royal family’s “greatest stars.”
Prince William and Kate are some of the most beloved members of the royal family. The parents of three are fan favorites in the UK and abroad, not only for their family values but also for their charity work. At the time of Kate and William’s marriage, the couple had been together for eight years.
Prince William is now first-in-line to the British throne after being named the Prince of Wales and heir apparent. Kate, on the other hand, is the future Queen Consort. While they have always looked glamorous and dashing, respectively, the pressure to look great during royal gatherings is now bigger than ever.
Kate met William in 2001 while attending the University of St. Andrews, and the couple began dating shortly after. Although their relationship was hidden for some time, in 2004, a photo was snapped of the couple on a ski trip and their relationship quickly became public. The couple split briefly in 2007, but soon reunited, and in 2010, William proposed to Kate while in Kenya with his mother, Princess Diana's ring.
After her wedding, Kate gracefully took on the role of a senior member of the royal family, and one of the things she is best known for is her impeccable sense of style.

From coat dresses to skirt suits, Kate has added her own signature style to every outfit she chooses. She has inspired countless women across the world to follow in her footsteps and follow a sensible and modest style that is also powerful and classy. Kate has perfectly bridged the gap of her signature fashion sense with royal dressing rules as she prepares to become queen one day.
According to Francis Page, a former employee of the queen’s household, the outfits worn by royals are almost always different every day. “Every day is different for royals when it comes to clothing,” Page said in an interview with Express.
It is understandable, though, as they attend numerous occasions which require various outfits, as noted by Page. “They attend many occasions each requiring a different set of clothing. So there is always so much pressure with finding the right outfits for those occasions. To ease this pressure the Royal Family identifies designers who are tasked to source for the right clothing,” he said.
While the Princess of Wales wears different clothes, Page said Kate has her personal favorites such as Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton and The Vampire’s Wife. And the best part? There is funding for royal clothing.
On how Kate usually decides which outfit to wear for a specific occasion, Page said she usually works closely with the designer of her choice. “Having worked inside Buckingham palace and Windsor Castle on guard duties, I was always so honored to see Kate looking glamorous every time she stopped over,” he said.
Body language expert Judi James explained to Express about Kate’s body language and selective style choice during the Prince and Princess of Wales' controversial Caribbean tour in 2022. James said Kate's wardrobe showcased her confidence and foreshadowed her future status as a world leader.

"Kate's strong, statement red jacket and white trousers seemed to underline or illustrate this signal of dominance," James noted, commenting on Kate's style choice as she boarded a flight to Jamaica.
"Her wave is confident, with the palm turned outward and almost flat," James added, mentioning the way Kate engaged with the press. "Her smile and posture suggest she is more than prepared for her role as future Queen."
But Kate wasn’t as stylish before as she is today, or rather, she had to change her style to fit her new role as part of the royal family. In 2010, a year before she got married to William, Kate had to make major changes to her overall appearance. Royal expert Tom Quinn, said in the Channel 5 documentary "William & Kate: Too Good To Be True" that Kate’s personal style had to be “more appropriate” for a royal.
"Her clothing almost began to reflect what people saw in her character — a kind of restraint, kind of modesty almost,” Quinn said.
"I think that did come about because William and Kate were coming towards the point where they would announce their engagement. It was Kate starting to behave in ways which would be seen more appropriate for a future queen,” he added.
Kate is definitely the Princess Diana of her generation, and it became even more apparent when they visited Wales for the first time since she and Prince William took on their new titles as Prince and Princess of Wales. She channeled Diana when she wore a bright red coat which many deemed as her way of honoring the late princess.
