Kate Middleton Spotted In Pair Of High Brown Boots She’s Had For Nearly Two Decades — She’s Kept The Pair For A Touching Reason

TODAY reported that the duchess was seen wearing her cute brown boots again as recently as Tuesday, April 27. Middleton and William visited Manor Farm in County Durham for a royal engagement. The pair looked absolutely gorgeous together, wearing similar pieces. While William opted for a simple pair of jeans and a warm, green jacket, Middleton brought out one of her classic pieces of clothing. She wore a cozy white sweater with some colored detailing across the neckline accompanied by a pair of jeans and a green jacket, which was similar to her handsome husband’s outfit. The Duchess of Cambridge completed the look with none other than her timeless tall brown boots.

The boots are long tassel boots designed by Penelope Chilvers, who has showcased Middleton on her website, highlighting just how great the boots look on the duchess. Middleton has trusted these boots to hold up for the past 17 years, which is incredible considering just how many fashion options she has nowadays. Her shoes have managed to keep up with her busy and active lifestyle thanks to the Goodyear Welted Commando rubber sole on the bottom.

Chilvers was born and raised in England but traveled to study in Madrid, Spain, at Complutense University. According to her website, she spent every school holiday in the province of Girona when she was a child, which is where she found a love for art. Chilvers grew up to later live in Barcelona, where she worked as a painter and designer. She also picked up the hobby of horseback riding, where she would typically wear traditional Spanish riding boots. Much like the boots Chilvers designs now, these riding boots were strong, sturdy and fashionable.

Middleton’s choice of footwear has turned out to be a good one, as her boots have continued to accompany her on many outings. The first time she was ever photographed wearing them was in 2004 when Middleton was spotted at the Game Fair at Blenheim Palace. Middleton sat for a formal phonograph while sporting a fall-inspired outfit consisting of a belted green skirt, a button-down shirt and her favorite boots, accentuated with a simple pair of knee-high socks.

Middleton and William took an hours-long hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Bhutan back in April 2016, where the duchess opted for her trusty pair of knee-high boots. Middleton looked like a real explorer while staying incredibly chic and stylish. The boots have continued to appear in recent photos as they seem to remind Middleton of all these early moments and dates with her now husband.

The boots are designed to last for plenty of years and should hold up pretty well through vigorous activity. Chilvers reached out to TODAY to talk about how happy she was to see Middleton continue to wear the beautiful boots over her years as a royal. “(My) footwear is designed for travel and adventure, so it makes me very happy to see them being worn how they should be, as her oldest and dearest wardrobe staples,” the designer wrote in an email to the news outlet.
