As the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton makes public appearances when she can fit them into her busy life as a mother of three. These are often scheduled, taking her to interactions with many from all walks of life throughout the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the world. One of her recent outings resulted in an especially adorable moment.

On Nov. 15, 2019, Catherine was in Norfolk to open East Anglia's Children's Hospices' new $13 million location in Framingham Earl reports Hello magazine. While there, she met with a number of children and their families as well as several others from the local community. It is a cause dear to her heart as it was one of her first royal patronages since coming into the family. Kate also shared her maternal side with many there, including asking one child if she was feeling cold before offering her a soft pat on her shoulder.

Also during that day, Kate spoke with Betsy Fletcher, another young girl. According to the royal correspondent of the Daily Express, she was taken by Betsy's hair and said, "I love your plaits," before adding, "My little girl, Charlotte, loves plaits, but her hair's only this long, so we have to do them at the top." As expected, many across social media loved that comment, partly because it showed how caring Kate is with others and partly because it allowed them to enjoy more insight into what young Charlotte is passionate about. The Cambridges, a fan account for this royal family, tweeted, "Aww so cute."

Charlotte, who celebrated her fourth birthday on May 2, seemed to have enjoyed her first day at school, at Thomas's Battersea, on Sept. 5, joining her older brother, George, 6. Hearts melted at seeing those photographs as many were amazed at how quickly she had been growing.

These moments in Norwich also revealed to Graham Butland, the outgoing chief executive for this hospice, how much Kate has matured over the years. Speaking to People, he recalled Kate's first speech in 2012 and how nervous she was then. "Now, she comes in with her head held high,” he concluded.

If you have children, what was his or her first favorite hairstyle? Was it simple, or was it something that took some more care? What did you think of it?
