It's recently been revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge underwent work experience with a maternity ward for two days. Catherine spent two days at the Kingston Hospital Maternity Unit based in London. This bustling ward delivered nearly 6,000 babies last year and also offers help with home births.

According to the Court Circular, the royal mom-of-three has made clear that children's mental health and childhood development are focuses of her public work. No further details about the work experience were given. In Lahore, a city in Pakistan, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to a hospital specializing in treating children's cancer. It's the same hospital which was visited by Princess Diana, Prince William's late mother in '96 and '97. Dr. Asim Yusuf who showed her around also gave William and his wife a tour.

The royal recently opened a children's hospice which has been dubbed the Nook. This was part of the Duchess' role as patron of EACH, or East Anglia's Children's Hospices. She also worked on a garden project put on by the Royal Horticultural Society. In tandem, they designed a garden to help encourage children to explore and play.

The garden has been called 'Back To Nature" and was unveiled to a crowd of people during the Chelsea Garden Show. After the initial reveal, it was moved to the Garden Festival at Hampton Court Palace. The design features a den, treehouse, rope swing, stream, waterfall, a hotel for bugs, and a wildflower meadow for bees.

Kate had previously mentioned that she feels as though nature and interaction with the outdoors has a major benefit on mental and physical wellbeing, especially for children. Kate says that she hopes the woodland inspires communities, kids, and entire families to enjoy the outdoors and spend some quality time together.
