Kate Middleton and Prince George made royal fans overjoyed after joining Prince William to watch England play against Germany on Wembley Stadium Tuesday evening, June 29. England fans cheered on their team as they watched the match in which Gareth Southgate's team made history with the team's first major win against Germany since the World Cup final in 1996. With over 25 million fans watching, the 90-minute match ended with a win for England, and many royal and soccer fans alike are crediting the victory to Prince George. Many dubbed the youngster England's 'lucky charm' as they praised him on social media.

George will be celebrating his eighth birthday next month, but he certainly looks like a grown-up young man in the photographs from the event. The young prince stood between his parents as they joined the crowds in singing the national anthem before the kick-off for the game. According to Daily Mail, George is a big soccer fan and has been for a few years now. He reportedly played on a local team and even had soccer-themed birthday parties in the past. It must have been an exciting event indeed for him, especially seeing England win the quarter-finals and making it onto the next round!

The young boy looked quite dapper as he donned a beautifully made suit that matched his father's and was seen excitedly supporting England in their match against Germany during the Euro 2020 Championships.

Kate also had a sweet mom moment as she kept an eye on young Prince George during the game. Read on to learn more about the moment that many missed during the game on Tuesday evening.

Kate and William treated George to an after-school surprise by bringing him along for the event, according to Express UK

This event was also the first time that Kate joined William for an England game. All three members of the family were seen conversing with each other throughout the game, and their joy when England defeated Germany was shared by English fans across the world. William had returned from his Scotland trip earlier on the day, where he had joined Queen Elizabeth to meet the team building HMS Glasgow at a shipyard.

While George joined his parents for the game, William and Kate opted to leave Princess Charlotte, six, and three-year-old Prince Louis at home for the night. At the beginning of the night, George, who is an avid soccer enthusiast just like his father, amused fans when he shyly mumbled the words to the English anthem "God Save The Queen," which the whole stadium joined together with the player to sing. Daily Mail reported that some fans pointed out that George may have felt this way as the song was about his great-grandmother.

It may have also been possible that George felt shy due to the heavy attention that the family was subjected to during the match. George is certainly no stranger to being in the spotlight, but this was a whole new experience for the young prince. Royal fans were ecstatic to see the family at the event and were all praises for William and Kate for being such involved parents while also doing their royal duty seamlessly.

It seems like sports are certainly important for the family, and both Kate and William have imbibed a love for sports in their children. Most recently, the day before William's 39th birthday was Father's Day in the UK, and William spent the day with his two eldest kids as they all kicked off a half marathon event that took place on the queen's Sandringham Estate in Sandringham, Norfolk. Addressing runners before the half marathon took place, William even got George, and Princess Charlotte involved when he held the microphone down to them as they counted down the start of the race altogether.

At this game, royal fans spotted a sweet moment between mom Kate Middleton and Prince George. Middleton was keeping an eye on her son during the game and even leaned in to speak with him as they watched from the front row. Middleton looked polished in a red Zara blazer as she enjoyed the game with her husband and son. The whole family could also be seen singing the National Anthem at the beginning of the game, and Prince William and Kate Middleton both were spotted pointing out different things to their son.

On Twitter, fans raved about Prince George's presence at the game Tuesday evening. One fan wrote:

"All football matches to now be before Prince George's bedtime please. It was his suit, I tell ya."

Another fan referred to Prince George as the lucky charm that helped England win the match as they wrote:

"Prince George should be at all games now, he's our good luck charm."
