During a time of social distancing, Kate Middleton and Prince William decided to spread some virtual gratitude. On Wednesday, the couple decided to reach out to staff and teachers working at Casterton Primary Academy in Burnley, England. These teachers and staff are among many in the U.K. who are keeping schools open in order to care for children of essential workers and vulnerable children who cannot stay at home.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge called teachers and staff yesterday to thank them for their hard work during the public health pandemic. From crafts to painting, the couple discussed with the teachers and students of England's Casterton Primary Academy what activities were keeping them busy during this unprecedented time. A video of the conversation was posted to the Royal Family Instagram page.

Kate Middleton wore a sunny yellow blouse during the call and stated how it's good that the children have a safe place to stay at the school during this time. Middleton said:
"The normality is there for them and they've got the structure and they've got a safe place for them to be."
Kate continued on to praise the teachers and staff for their dedication and hard work:
"Really, really well done to all of you. I know it's not easy circumstances, but it's fantastic."
Kate is a royal patron for a charity that supports the primary school, called Place2Be.
Prince William and Kate Middleton's own kids–Prince George and Princess Charlotte–have been learning remotely. According to Vanity Fair, the kids have been homeschooled and the whole family remains in self-isolation at their country home Anmer Hall on the queen's Sandringham Estate.
