Kate Middleton Looks Luminous In A Belted White Dress At Unexpected Wimbledon Appearance

The summer sporting mainstay Wimbledon is underway in London, and Kate Middleton decided to show up to watch a tennis match or two. She looked as glamorous as usual, dressed in a chic lightweight, perfectly tailored, white summer dress.

The Duchess is a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the body that organizes Wimbledon, which is a role she took over from the Queen in 2016. Kate played tennis growing up and is an avid fan because as she told Vanity Fair, it’s a “quintessential part of the English summer” and “inspires youngsters.” She attends Wimbledon every year but usually later in the tournament.

For this summer’s appearance, Kate watched a match between Harriet Dart and Christina McHale dressed in a radiant white sundress by Suzannah, according to Vogue. The double-breasted dress looked extra chic with a shiny black bow belt accent and a second bow on her lapel striped in royal purple and black. 

Kate also made a visit to the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival organized by the Royal Horticultural Society the day prior, to host a picnic for visiting schoolchildren. As part of another one of Kate’s patronages, the “Back to Nature” garden was designed by the Duchess herself.

The palace’s Instagram reported that the garden has been transferred from its original location in Chelsea to Hampton Court Palace and also described by it’s so important to Kate:

“As part of her longstanding work on Early Years, The Duchess believes that spending time outdoors plays a pivotal role in children’s future health and happiness. Her garden highlights how time spent in natural environments can help build the foundations for positive physical and mental wellbeing that last through childhood and over a lifetime.”

She wore another perfect summer dress, this time in a green print, with classic espadrille wedges.
