Following the death of Prince Philip in April and the official period of mourning for the royal family, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, are now back to work. After the busy spring months that included celebrating the queen's birthday, their noteworthy 10th anniversary, Prince Louis' and Princess Charlotte's birthdays, the Cambridge couple has embarked on a tour of Scotland. While on the Northern Isles of Scotland on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, the couple visited a group of schoolchildren all huddled together outside of the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney, Scotland. Kate Middleton and Prince William visited the center to learn more about Orkney's initiative to drive carbon zero and hydrogen power.

The children grouped outside of the center were eagerly awaiting the royals' arrival, and one little boy asked a question that even made Kate Middleton blush. In the sweet and candid encounter, one child asked Kate Middleton if she was a "prince." The Cambridge's current tour of Scotland began last Friday with Prince William arriving first on his own before the duchess joined him on Monday. The exact details of their tour schedule have not been released publicly, but the royal couple is expected to visit St Andrews University, which is where they met when they were both enrolled as students 20 years ago. The oldest university in Scotland, St Andrews is also the third-oldest in the English-speaking world, coming after Oxford and Cambridge.

For now, they've visited the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit and Heavy Sound. Founded in 2005 by the local police department, SVRU is a nationwide center tackling violence and is mainly aimed at young people. The organization works with Police Scotland and the Scottish government by using a public health approach to tackling the root causes of violent behaviors. SVRU works together with Heavy Sound to keep young people on the right path by engaging them in education and training to obtain skills and qualifications.

On top of visiting the eager group of children, the Duke and Duchess were present at a Muay Thai boxing session that is aimed at teaching youth de-escalation techniques and discipline. They were also privy to bike maintenance workshops that the organizations hold for young people.

Later in their Scottish royal tour, the duke and duchess have hosted a special drive-in screening for NHS staff of Disney's new film "Cruella," as well as a beachside session of land yachting. The tour has also marked their first official visit to the archipelago of Orkney.

The group of kids outside the Marine Energy Centre in Orkney eagerly awaited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they all huddled together in a frenzy. While Kate and William were greeting the excited schoolchildren, one little boy, in particular, asked Kate a sweet question. "Are you a Prince," the boy asked. Despite the somewhat silly question, Kate was able to keep her poker face intact. The duchess's response was absolutely perfect, as she answered, "I'm not a Prince. I'm the Duchess of Cambridge. Lots of people call me Catherine."

Another little girl then chimed in and said, "She's a Princess!"

Kate then replied by flattering the young girl as she asked, "Are you? Are you a Princess?" The girl shook her head no, but Kate went on and remarked, "Aww, you look like one in your beautiful pink coat."

The mom-of-three knew exactly how to talk to the kids, as she then said to the whole group:

"It's very nice to meet you all. Have you been having a look at all the boats? It's very cool isn't it?"

During the visit, Kate was donning a more casual look, as she wore a Seeland Woodcock Advanced Jacket, plain blue jeans and weather-ready, brown ankle boots. Earlier in the same day, Prince William opened the Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall and the two heard about the health workers' experience over the past year.

During the hospital visit, Kate looked elegant in a camel Massimo Dutti coat with a matching jumper, wide-leg pants and Strathearn tartan scarf to harken back to her Scottish title, the Countess of Strathearn
