During their latest royal outing, Kate Middleton and Prince William got a little cozier than usual. While visiting the South Wales resort of Mumbles on Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge watched the rescue crew members undertake a launch. At the Lifeboat Station near Swansea, the couple met with members and volunteers.

Even though they have a reputation of keeping their appearances professional, the royal couple got cozier with some more PDA than usual. William and Kate spoke to well-wishers outside of the local station during their public outing at the well-known seafront and while chatting William placed an affectionate hand on Kate's shoulder.

When Kate and her husband first arrived at the RNLI lifeboat station on the Pier, she performed a similar gesture of affection by putting her hand on William's arm. While there is no official royal law that forbids members of the royal family from showing public displays of affection, the Queen set a precedent that encourages royals to be more on the conservative side when it comes to public affection. Out of respect for decorum, the level of PDA is always determined by the setting, ocassion, and privacy-level of the royal outing.
