Kate Hudson Captures Her Son's Musical Send Off Before He Leaves For College

Kate Hudson is Hollywood royalty. The award-winning actress is the daughter of Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and actor and comedian Bill Hudson. Hawn rose to international fame in 1968 when she portrayed the role of the dumb blond in the sketch comedy show Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In.

She quickly became the "It' girl of the 60s. Born to famous parents, Hudson began acting at the age of 11. Hudson made her film debut in 1998 when she portrayed Kate Davidson in "Desert Blue."

Her breakthrough role came years later when she played the role of a groupie in Cameron Crowe's semi-autobiographical dramedy "Almost Famous." Hudson received the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress dazzling performance in Crowe's film. 

Screen Rant crowned the 90s icon as the queen of romantic comedies for her charming performances in "Bride Wars," "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," and "Raising Helen."

Although a popular romantic comedy actress, the Golden Globe-winning actress has diverse filmology showcasing her limitless talents. Screen Rant ranked Hudson's best roles throughout the course of her 30-year-long career.

Ranked in the top three best roles of her career are Penny Lane in "Almost Famous," Eleanor Strubing in "Marshall," and Felicia Williams, the wife of Mike Williams (played by Mark Wahlberg) in "Deepwater Horizon." 

Hudson is known for her incredible acting skills and the love she shows for her children, sons Ryder and Bingham, and daughter Rani. After raising her son Ryder, he is soon headed off to college. 

Hudson and Ryder always had a close relationship since Hudson was so young and still learning so much about parenting when she had him. She explained, "I was really young, like 23, when I had Ryder. So, our relationship has always been (a little unusual). I mean, we're close, and I am his mom. I'm big on manners. I'm big on politeness. I'm big on gratitude. But I'm a bit of a wild mom."

Plenty of fans were excited to see Ryder and get to know more about him when he walked a red carpet premiere alongside Hudson. According to PEOPLE, the mother-son duo attended the Stella McCartney x The Beatles: Get Back collection launch together back in November 2021 alongside Hawn. Hudson wore a Stella McCartney lace-embellished sequin outfit dressed up with a black blazer while Ryder sported a crewneck sweatshirt with a silver chain, standard trousers and a pair of Converse sneakers.

In September 2021, Hudson talked more about her adorable relationship with Ryder, specifically about how much of a kick she gets out of her son's sense of humor. According to PEOPLE, Ryder really enjoys imitating his famous mom by mock-promoting her fitness brand.

"I mean, he's also deeply funny," Hudson said. She also explained how she already saw a bright future for her son. "Ryder – I mean, he clearly is gonna probably follow in the footsteps of the family," Hudson added. "And I would say he's probably the funniest in our family. So, this is like every day for me. Nobody makes me laugh like Ryder, and he just constantly makes fun of me."

In June of 2022, the proud mother posted a happy family picture of Ryder dressed in his cap and gown. In the sweet family photo Hudson said, "Today was a big day for our family. A day you talk about about when your kids are little and say things like “hey, one day it will be 2022 and you’ll graduate from high school!” As if that day is so far it is barely reachable. And then here we are! @mr.ryderrobinson you are the most incredible young man. Raising you has been one of the great gifts and pleasures of my life." The graduate graduated from Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, California. 

In August of 2022, Hudson posted another Instagram video with the same sweet and proud sentiment. Videoing Ryder and Bingham playing guitar and drums, Hudson captioned the video and said, "My boys 🥰 What more could a mom ask for other than boys who play rock and are hilarious at the same time ✅ @mr.ryderrobinson what a good big brother. We’re gonna miss you big time 😢 #offtocollege #guessthesong." 

It's clear that Hudson grew up with a very unique yet amazing family life, and she is now passing on her wisdom and talents to her children, especially her oldest child Ryder. Even though Ryder has not officially entered the entertainment industry career-wise just yet, his mother and fans have high hopes that he one day will. We can't wait to see what's in store for Ryder and his future!
