Some players go to Disneyland and some buy a new car, but Chiefs defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi wanted to give back to the community after his team won the Super Bowl on Sunday – He decided to pay for adoption fees for dogs at the local KC Pet Project shelters.

Nnadi had been partnering with the shelters prior to the Super Bowl through his foundation, because of his love of animals.
“All my life I always wanted a dog," He told CNN. "Growing up I didn't have a pet, my parents didn't really allow pets."
But then he got Rocky in his senior year of college and his lifelong love of dogs was cemented.

He promised himself that he would pay for the dogs’ adoption fees, which each run about $150 when the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl. The goal was attained partially because Nnadi said he was motivated to play extra hard.
The hard work paid off and plenty of animals found their forever homes because of his philanthropy.
