Julia Roberts Posts Rare Snap With Husband Daniel Moder To Mark 19th Wedding Anniversary

Julia Roberts has been one of the top leading ladies in Hollywood since she starred in the 1990 film “Pretty Woman,” which is still the role she is most remembered for. The star has received numerous accolades for her acting, including an Academy Award and three Golden Globes. When counting all of her movies, Roberts’ films have brought in a box office gross of over $3.8 billion globally.

Roberts won her Academy Award for her titular role in the film “Erin Brockovich” in 2000. Some of her other popular films include “Steel Magnolias,” “My Best Friend's Wedding” and “Ocean's Eleven.” She has also been voted the most beautiful woman in the world five times by People magazine. Despite being one of the most famous people in the world, the actress does her best to keep herself and her family away from the public eye.

In keeping with her private nature, Roberts didn't marry another celebrity, instead, she married cinematographer Danny Moder in 2002. The couple met on the set of the movie “The Mexican,” where Danny had been a cameraman and Julia the leading lady. Together they have three children — twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, 16, and a son named Henry, 14.

Now, in a rare show of public adoration, Roberts posted a touching ode to her husband as they celebrated 19 years of marriage. Their anniversary happens to coincide with Independence Day, making it an even bigger cause for celebration. In the heartwarming post, Roberts shared a photo of the couple embracing on the beach and left a sweet caption. Let's take a look.

Actress Julia Roberts might be one of the most famous actresses of her era, but when it comes to her personal life she tends to keep it private. Although she has an Instagram, she doesn't post too many personal moments from her life on there, instead choosing to focus on work or political topics. 

But when her 19th wedding anniversary to her beloved husband Danny Moder came around on July 4, the actress couldn't help but post something personal. Sharing a candid photo of the two of them on a beach, Roberts is beaming, as she wears a floral shirt, orange cap and black sunglasses. Meanwhile, Moder appears to have just had a swim, as his hair is wet and tousled and he's wrapped in a towel. Roberts has her arm around Moder and it appears the picture is a selfie. Roberts captioned the sweet tribute:

"19 years ❤️🤍💙 Just getting started!"

The red, white, and blue hearts appear to be a nod to the U.S. flag, as their wedding anniversary falls on Independence Day. Famous friends and fans alike congratulated the couple, including Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson, who commented:

"Happy happy anniversary! Gotta celebrate big on 20th!"

Roberts even replied to her friend's comment, writing, "we will come to your house!🥰💓💋🥳." Another famous friend who congratulated the couple was director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

And although Roberts is notoriously private, it actually wasn't the first time she posted an anniversary tribute to her husband. For the couple's 18th wedding anniversary last year, Roberts shared a similarly candid photo of her kissing Moder on the cheek with the caption:

"✨18 years✨ #heckyes"

Clearly in love with her husband of nearly two decades, the “Pretty Woman” star opened up to Gwyneth Paltrow on her "Goop" podcast in 2018 to talk about her marriage to Moder, among other topics. She said:

“Getting married to Danny. That was the first, like, my life will never be the same in the most incredible, indescribable way… He truly, to this day, to this minute, is just my favorite human. I'm more interested in what he has to say or his point of view just more than anybody. Really, we're so lucky in that way. We just really, really like each other and we just enjoy each other’s company."

When it comes to her Instagram channel, Roberts seems to have taken inspiration from yet another famous friend — Sarah Jessica Parker. During a 2018 Harper's Bazaar interview with Oprah Winfrey, Roberts talked about her family and children, and when the topic of social media arose, she had this to say:

“It’s definitely a balancing act, and it’s been tricky figuring out what to post because I am private, but I am also friendly. I know that Sarah Jessica Parker, who is a friend and a person I really admire, has an incredible Instagram. She has conversations with people.”

Well, it seems that Roberts has learned from the best and has found that comfortable point for herself in which she uses her platform to bring awareness to topics she feels passionately about, and once in a while allows herself to veer into personal territories such as with her rare but cherished posts that feature her husband.
