A Wave Of Accomplishments

With such a long-lasting career and many more years to come, it’s safe to say that Roberts has accomplished quite a bit. She has a beautiful family – including her famous niece Emma Roberts, who is also an actress – and is continuing to make her mark on the world each and every day.

“There are great things I’ve accomplished in my career, and I’d be happy to accomplish more, of course, to impress my children and my husband,” Roberts told Harper’s Bazaar. “But you know what? I’ve been spoilt already.” Roberts is a happy mom of three and has been married to cinematographer Daniel Moder since July 2002.

Speaking about Moder, Roberts said, “Finding my person. When I think about what makes my life my life, and make sense and just shine inside of me, it’s him. Everything has come from that for me.” Since getting together, the couple has worked on a handful of movies together, with Roberts admitted is a “good combination” of “comfort” and “terror.”

Starring alongside Richard Gere, Roberts became a household name following her stellar performance in “Pretty Woman.” She was only 22 at the time and already had some experience on screen from her roles in “Steel Magnolias” and “Mystic Pizza.”

While “Pretty Woman” is a classic in Roberts’ filmography, it was not necessarily the highlight of her career. According to The List, the romantic-comedy film grossed over $178.4 million internationally, but Roberts was only paid $300,000 for her role as Vivian due to her status as an up-and-coming actress.

On the other hand, Gere made millions for his leading role in the film, as he had already made a clear name for himself in the acting industry. However, Closer Weekly reported in June 2020 that Roberts had an estimated net worth higher than her previous male co-star. On top of that, the film is still a raving success more than three decades later.

Fortunately, Roberts’ pay over the years has significantly increased along with her status as a celebrity and actress. In 2000, she made $20 million to star in “Erin Brockovich,” a film that also earned the star her first-ever Academy Award win, according to The List. She made even more history with the movie, as Roberts also became the first woman to make such a large sum of money for a film role at the time.

Nowadays, Roberts is easily seen as a highly-acclaimed star. According to Celebrity Net Worth, she landed an endorsement deal with Gianfranco Ferre in 2006 for $6 and became a global brand ambassador for the cosmetics brand Lancome Paris in 2009. In 2010, Roberts signed a five-year deal with Lancôme, which earned her $50 million.

Roberts currently has an estimated net worth of $250 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. With the money she makes from movies along with her many endorsements, the actress usually rakes in about $20 million to $30 million per year.

Her money has gone to some luxury items, including three estates in California, one apartment in Manhattan, New York, and a ranch in Taos, New Mexico. Roberts is also an active supporter of several charities, including UNICEF, and also helps raise awareness about environmental issues.
