Joshua Jackson is a Canadian actor who is best known for playing the role of Pacey in the popular teen drama "Dawson's Creek." Jackson also starred as Charlie in the "Mighty Ducks" franchise. The star has seen steady work, with starring roles on the TV show "Fringe" and more recently on the mini-series "Little Fires Everywhere."

Some of Jackson's other popular films include "Cruel Intentions," "The Skulls," "Shutter" and the independent film "One Week" for which he won the Genie Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role. The actor had his film debut in 1991 when he appeared in "Crooked Hearts." He then went on to play Charlie in a "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" musical, which led to him being signed to the William Morris Agency. Not much later, he landed the role in "The Mighty Ducks."

Jackson was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He attended Ideal Mini School before switching to Kitsilano Secondary School and then grew up attending the same high school as fellow actor Ryan Reynolds. Jackson dated co-star Katie Holmes while working together on "Dawson's Creek." For a decade, he was connected to Diane Kruger, but the couple ended things in 2016.

In 2018, Jackson met actress Jodie Turner-Smith and they began dating. They were married a year later and had a daughter in April 2020. The happy couple is always flirting and leaving adorable comments for one another on social media. It has also been shared that Turner-Smith was the one to propose to Jackson first. The couple loves to leave flirty comments for each other on Instagram. Jackson shared with Refinery29: "We're rarely in the same room (writing) the thirsty comments because that usually just gets said to each other. But, look, if either of us misses a comment, you better believe at night, there's a, 'Hey, did you see what I wrote?' One, she's very easy to love out loud and two, she's phenomenal. And I have to say, the love and support that is coming my direction has been a revelation in my life."

Jackson didn't get married until 2019, but he has taken well to family life. "I didn't get married until fairly late in the game. I didn't have a baby till very late in the game and they're the two best choices I've ever made in my life," he explained.

Turner-Smith did propose first, according to Jackson, but that wasn't the only proposal. He said:

"My wife did propose to me and yes, I did say yes, but what I didn't say in that interview was there was a caveat, which is that I'm still old school enough that I said, 'This is a yes, but you have to give me the opportunity (to do it too).' She has a biological father and a stepdad, who's the man who raised her. (I said), 'You have to give me the opportunity to ask both of those men for your hand in marriage.' And then, 'I would like the opportunity to re-propose those to you and do it the old-fashioned way down on bended knee.' So, that's actually how the story ended up."

However, he also remarked how sad it was that who proposed to whom first was even a point of contention, stating:

"Also for anybody who is freaked out by a woman claiming her own space, shut the fuck up. Good God, you cannot believe the things people were leaving my wife on Instagram. She did it. I said 'yes.' We're happy. That's it. That's all you need to know."
