Bon Jovi has shown no signs of quitting despite being in the music business for 36 years. The group released their last album, This House Is Not for Sale, in 2016 and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018. Adams is another heavy hitter in the music scene. The 60-year-old musician and noted guitarist just finished a two-month tour that saw him play for crowds from Denver, Colorado to Washington, D.C. Adams’ latest album, Shine a Light, was a critical darling and featured collaborations with Jennifer Lopez and Ed Sheeran. The singer also worked with the legendary Billy Idol for an eight-show tour last summer.
Bon Jovi’s front man, Jon Bon Jovi, has also been in the news lately for his efforts on behalf of JBJ Soul Foundation, the charity that he founded in 2006. Through JBJ Soul Foundation, Bon Jovi donated $500,000 to help build an apartment complex for Washington, D.C.’s veterans. Speaking with reporters from the Washington Post, the 57-year-old musician said that service is a big part of his identity. In his interview with reporters, Bon Jovi recalled his own struggles before he was famous.
One night, when he was a homeless person, Bon Jovi was sleeping outside of Philadelphia’s City Hall and thinking that the Founding Fathers would not want their countrymen to live on the streets. In the nearly 14 years of its existence, the JBJ Soul Foundation has funded over 700 housing facilities in 11 states.

The organization also operates two restaurants where guests make payments through donations. One such restaurant is Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, New Jersey. In an interview with Gayle King of CBS This Morning, King and Bon Jovi talked about the restaurant. King remarked how it seems that Bon Jovi’s willingness to serve is part of who he is and is rooted in his genes. The singer joked that he hopes scientists never find a cure for it, confessing that it takes a lot of work to run the restaurant.
Bon Jovi has even dedicated his music to the plight faced by our veterans. In “Unbroken,” Bon Jovi told the story of a patriotic veteran who endures horrible injuries and psychological scars from serving his country. Bon Jovi donated all proceeds from the song to the Patriotic Service Dog Foundation, a charity that helps veterans and first responders find service dogs.
