Jon Bon Jovi Gives Half A Million Dollars To Build Apartments For 300 Homeless Veterans

Jon Bon Jovi has set up a special fund through his JBJ Soul Foundation that recently donated a generous $500,000 on behalf of homeless veterans.

Back in 2006, Jon Bon Jovi started the JBJ Foundation a charity that works to break the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and hunger. Now the star has donated further funds to aid veterans who, after serving their country, have struggled with PTSD and finding adequate shelter.

On “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” Bon Jovi spoke with the host to explain that the money will go to a new apartment facility in DC that will house those who previously served.

Realizing that veterans need assistance with PTSD and getting back on their feet after their time in the military, he stated, "Life as you knew it is going to be different, and sometimes, people need that extra help.” to Jake on CNN.

Bon Jovi’s parents were both Marines so he knows what it means to dedicate your life to service. He wanted to give back to the men and women who sacrificed so much, and that’s where this facility came in. It was a project ten years in the making and now it is able to house 77 veterans and give them a place to call home.

The “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer is using his musical talents to pay tribute to veterans in a song called “Unbroken,” which paints a picture of a man who comes back from war with PTSD. It will be part of the documentary “To Be Of Service,” about military members and their dogs according to USA Today. Fans will also note that it will also be included on his upcoming album “2020.”
