In the run up to the 2017 film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance as a puppet on a Disney Park ride.

For diehard Disney fanatics, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride is a calmer way to inhabit scenes of this favorite movie. Visitors to this indoor attraction ride in boats as they view highlights from this hit. As they sit, there’s no telling where the waves of chance will take them.

On one special day, passengers in the Pirates themed ride sat in the boat eagerly awaiting the next vignette. As the lights came up, one of the animatronic puppets in the display seemed to have something to say – directly to them! The puppet had been replaced with a real-life actor.

As the boat drew nearer the exhibit, the visitors could not believe their eyes. The actor wasn’t merely a college student making a few dollars over the summer or a skilled imposter. Captain Jack Sparrow was being portrayed by Johnny Depp himself!

Depp delivered a few lines to get their attention. Then, he responded to their requests with humor and his trademark humility. The passengers were thrilled as they scrambled to take a quick picture of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
