One of Hollywood's most iconic actors is "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Johnny Depp. He has appeared in several of director Tim Burton's films throughout his illustrious career, including "Edward Scissorhands," "Sleepy Hollow," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Alice in Wonderland." Depp is widely regarded as one of the world's most famous movie stars and was listed as the highest-paid actor by Guinness World Records in 2012.

Depp dropped out of high school and began his career as a musician before moving into acting. He made his movie debut in 1984 with the horror film "A Nightmare on Elm Street." Some of the star's other notable films include "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," "Finding Neverland" and "Donnie Brasco."

In his personal life, Depp has been married and divorced twice. He has also had long-term relationships with other women, including Winona RyderKate Moss, and Vanessa Paradis, who is the mother of his two children. Paradis and Depp were together from 1998 to 2012. After marrying Amber Heard in 2015, Depp filed for divorce a year after, and their relationship reached a boiling point when they sued each other, with Heard winning a case in the UK and Depp in the US.

But despite the mixed attention that Depp has gotten in the past few years, his passion for cinema has not faltered. In fact, he made his film comeback in “Jeanne du Barry,” a period drama centered on the life of King Louis XV of France. After enjoying a 7-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival in France, the actor was reported to have skipped the celebrations, which is quite unusual for someone whose film was widely acclaimed. Back in January 2022, Variety reported that Depp was scheduled to star as French King Louis XV, "Louis the Beloved," in a film titled "Jeanne du Barry." Depp's film was directed by Maiwenn, who is known for other works such as "Polisse" and "Mon Roi."

Depp attended the 76th Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet Premiere, along with other celebrities. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Depp and #Cannes2023 were both trending topics on Twitter following the ongoing rage surrounding Depp's trial with Heard

Depp's film not only premiered at the festival but also in theaters across France. Notably, one of the theatres was reported to be distributing flyers saying these both in French and English:

"Choosing to open the world's most prestigious film festival with an attacker waving at the crowd on the red carpet … conveys a clear, devastating message. In 2023, the voices of victims and their allies continue to be questioned, ignored and silenced by others."

However, it did not stop the army of Depp's loyal followers from showering him with love and support on his big film comeback.

Arriving in a slicked-back hair clasped in a ponytail, Depp, in sunglasses, was heavily guarded by security as he signed autographs and posed for pictures with his excited fans. Fans could be heard shouting "Viva Johnny!" while many shouted his name repeatedly in excitement and joy.

As soon as they entered the theatres, Depp and his cast were greeted with a warm round of applause and a standing ovation. After the exclusive screening, Maïwenn and Depp were met with another standing ovation to which they "teared up." In a report from The Daily Mail, Depp and his team received a staggering seven-minute standing ovation from the audience.

After the screening of "Jeanne du Barry,” one would expect that Depp would grace the post-screening celebrations and parties for his film. However, as reported by TMZ, Depp ditched the parties to opt for some peace and quiet.

According to insider sources, Depp, unlike his previous years, headed straight back to his hotel early so that he could get some good night’s rest and have enough rest that he’s ready and prepared for more media interviews the next day.

Sources said that Depp had experienced "an evolution in terms of prioritizing his health and rest,” which is why he prioritized doing more work – striking while the iron is hot – as he continued to gain good press.

Aside from skipping the parties, the outlet also reported that Depp flew back to London to be present at a tribute show for his late pal Jeff Beck. He attended the show with Eric Clapton and other musicians. He is also said to be embarking on a tour with his band Hollywood Vampires

Depp has pursued music alongside focusing on his film comeback. According to the source, the actor immediately hopped back into his directorial duties in his movie with Al Pacino, “Modi.”

In 2023, Depp enjoyed the warm welcome of his fans as he eased back into the limelight after the tumultuous rollercoaster ride that is his highly-publicized trial with ex-wife Heard. On May 12, 2023, Depp inked a $20 Million deal with Dior, making it the biggest men’s fragrance pact ever made. Heard, on the other hand, has been living under the radar in Spain with her child, away from media attention and the paparazzi.
