The Hollywood Vampires cover the David Bowie classic "Heroes" as part of the release of their new upcoming album Rise. The musical group includes Joe Smith, Alice Cooper, and Johnny Depp. The scheduled release of the group's second album is June 21.

In a music video featuring the Hollywood Vampires, Johnny Depp takes the lead on the group's latest single from the album. The song is a cover from the popular David Bowie song 'Heroes.'

According to Rollingstone, Hansa studios in Berlin is the location where the black and white video for the song was filmed. The Hollywood vampires originally recorded the cover on June 5th of 2018. Bowie recorded the original version of the song at the same studio more than 40 years ago.

The video begins with behind-the-scenes footage of the group preparing to record the song. Alice Cooper is first to be seen on the video when he walks into the center of the room. The sense of drama builds from that moment of Cooper's arrival until the first feedback riff could be heard

Depp was not seen in the video until he sang the song's opening line.

He is wearing sunglasses and his mohawk is pulled back on his head when the camera shows on him. The iconic actor looks the part of the classic rock and roller with his guitar hanging from his shoulder. When the song reaches its chorus, various cuts of the band performing onstage and spending time on a tour bus is shown to viewers.

Depp is the focus of the video in the second verse. He is shown both in the studio and onstage. The band honored David Bowie by showing quick photo of the hall of fame rocker flashed across the screen during the video.

Rollingstone also reports the band concentrated mostly on covers of their favorite 70s songs when they first came together as a group. But in 2015, when they first got around to making their debut self-titled album, the group included a number of original offerings

The Boogie Man surprise is the latest original offering delivered by the group. Who's Laughing Now will be released in April according to the group's website

Cooper offered his thoughts on the new album from the Vampires in an interview with NME. He says not only is the second album very different from the first album recorded by the group. But the project is unlike anything he has ever been a part of. The former Aerosmith member says that the current album is working to establish who the Vampires are as a band. Cooper says the first album was more of the tipping of hats to fallen comrades.

The trio co-founded the band originally to pay tribute to rock and roll legends that lost their lives in the 70s. Since that time, the range and scope of their musical offerings have greatly expanded.
