John Travolta And Kelly Preston’s Love Has Been Through So Much, But Their Feelings Have Only Gotten Greater

Power couple John Travolta and Kelly Preston have been married for more than 20 years and they have seen a lot of ups and downs in that time. However, they are still standing strong and their love is as powerful as ever.

Kelly described the moment she first met John on Live with Kelly and Ryan. It was back in 1989 when they were both in the movie The Experts, and she saw John striding across the lobby while she was going through the screen test process. The two ended up having a steamy dance number in the movie, and the talk show's host Kelly Ripa noted that today, whenever she sees John and Kelly, they are still dancing.

However, it wasn't quite love at first sight for Kelly because she was married to actor Kevin Gage at the time People reports. She later went on to date George Clooney and Charlie Sheen, but once she was single again she began dating John Travolta.

On New Year's Eve 1991, the Look Who's Talking star got down on one knee and proposed to Kelly who screamed in surprise and promptly said yes.

Kelly was pregnant with their son Jett when they were wed, and years later in 2000 they had their daughter Ella Bleu. The happy family had many good years together until disaster struck in 2009 when their son Jett had a seizure and passed away in 2009 reports People. 

The parents had another child, Ben, a few years later and as John told Good Morning America, “We certainly have bonded together, and certainly, having little Ben has been a beautiful kind of glue for us to re-bond after tremendous loss.”

The couple recently celebrated their 28-year wedding anniversary in September 2019, proving that a strong marriage can overcome tragedy if you have each other. Kelly's Instagram post on the day was a testament to that sentiment:

"You have given me hope when I have felt lost, loved me patiently and unconditionally… made me laugh harder than any other human being possible... shared the most beautiful highs and at times lows."
