John Legend Joins The Movement For More Men's Restrooms To Have Changing Tables

The "All Of Me" singer has been campaigning for men's bathrooms to be equipped with baby changing stations.

Dad's across the internet are calling for more baby-changing stations in men's public restrooms after one father's post went viral. Florida dad, Donde Palmer posted an image of him squatting on the floor of a men's restroom with son lying across his lap while he tried to change his diaper. He used the hashtag #SquatForChange which sparked a wave of father's posting their difficulties of trying to change their children's diapers while having no diaper station in the men's bathroom.

After Palmer's post gained a lot of traction, he decided to start the organization Squat For Change. The organization states on its website that it is for "creating a world of equity, where changing your baby is a man thing too, just like moms." On Palmer's Instagram, he frequently posts photos of the challenges fathers encounter when there is no changing station in the men's restroom. The campaign has made some big strides in the last few months as Grammy-winning artist John Legend has been vocal about the needed change and partnered with brands to continue the initiative.

Moms have also joined the fight for more changing stations in restrooms, as they've shared their experiences trying to change their child's diaper with no diaper station. In the past, lawmakers have attempted to tackle this issue. In 2016, President Obama signed into law the bill, H.R. 5147, or otherwise known as the Bathrooms Accessible in Every Situation (or BABIES) Act. The law requires restrooms in public buildings everywhere to have baby changing facilities.
