The documentary series "Tiger King" currently on Netflix is causing a stir across the globe, and seems to be a hot topic on social media at the moment. The songs that are performed on the series show a great deal of talent. Only the talent doesn't come from the protagonist of the documentary, Joe Exotic, as we are led to believe, but from a pair of musicians from Washington known as The Clinton Johnson Band.

"Tiger King" is the latest craze sweeping the nation. The docuseries which explores the lives of big cat collectors, came to our screens earlier this month and according to Netflix's own data is the number one most-watched title in the US, reports Variety.

Aside from the interest in the wild cats, there is an interesting musical theme throughout centering on Joe Exotic's attempted career in country music. He is frequently seen singing and playing the guitar outdoors. Many fans of the show have remarked at how great his voice is.

However, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Rick Kirkham, a producer on the series, revealed the truth behind the songs. Kirkham said:

"[Joe] couldn’t even hold a tune. It was just so ludicrous. It was a big joke within the crew and staff that it wasn’t him [singing in the videos]—but he was damned insistent to anyone and everyone, including us and my studio crew, that that was him.”

According to Vanity Fair, the real talent behind the music segments comes from Vince Johnson and vocalist Danny Clinton, a couple of musicians from Washington who make up The Clinton Johnson Band. The pair wrote and performed the songs themselves.

Vanity Fair also spoke to one of the music video producers, Romeo Dupuy, who worked with Exotic. Dupuy disclosed an additional fact: "He couldn't even play the guitar. So we would pose him. When we shot him playing these songs, he would be behind grass to cover up his hands. Then he'd lip-sync." That explains why there are so many shots of him in the grass!
