It’s no secret that we could all use a vacation. Who doesn’t love spending a care-free week or long weekend in a gorgeous destination with not a care in the world? For pet owners, the worst thing about any vacation is the undeniable and unavoidable rush of guilt as you drop your furry little fluff ball off at the boarder, knowing you may be toes-deep in the sand while Rufus is waiting it out in the kennel.

As hard you may try, it’s nearly impossible to not look back for one more glance at those sweet little eyes watching you walk away, making you feel like absolute garbage for taking your well-deserved vacation. Too bad we can’t all bring our pets to the beach, right?

When it comes to leaving your pup at a kennel during your vacation, there’s nothing more joyful than seeing how incredibly excited they are to see you walk through the door when you return.

Typically, pet owners are greeted by a purring cat or a frenzied pup that simply won’t stop jumping up and kissing on you. However, some dogs can be very stubborn, making it exceptionally clear that you’re in deep doo-doo for ghosting on them.

Hannibal the boxer took shaming his owners for leaving him at a boarding facility to a whole new level. His owners walked into Dogwoods Canine Play and Stay expecting to see their little pup delighting to see them.

They were all ready for a big reunion full of pets and hugs. However, the reaction they got from Hannibal was as cold as ice. Standing upright inside his enclosure, Hannibal stayed completely still when his owners arrived.

He then hilariously continued to give his owners what can only be described as the “stink eye,” shooting them a nasty side-eyed glare that literally conveyed all of his hurt while simultaneously shaming his owners for leaving him.

He didn’t move a muscle while his owners approached him, just kept up his frosty glare of disgust. His eyes were reminiscent of Mona Lisa’s: somehow always fixated on you while never moving.

If dogs could talk, Hannibal would certainly have some choice words for his owners along the lines of, “oh…I get it. Now that you’re back from Hawaii you suddenly want cuddles from me again? No such luck, humans!”
