If you jump online and read anything about parenting, you will be sure to hear from all of the “mommy-shamers” that are out there. So many of them are just lurking on social media waiting to pounce on proud and unsuspecting parents. Sometimes, we don’t even know how millions of mothers and fathers even managed to raise children without all of the advice found on social media!

The mommy-shamers never tire of throwing their two cents in, whether the parents asked for advice or not. Everyone loves to think that their way is always the way that is right.

The latest target for mommy-shaming is now Jessica Simpson. In fact, Simpson has been the target of criticism many times before. What is it now, you are asking? Well, Simpson just recently posted a very adorable picture of her newborn daughter sleeping. Her precious bundle, all dolled up in a gorgeous flowered dress and matching bow, can be seen sleeping peacefully in her little wicker bassinet.

We can all agree that Birdie Mae is just too cute for words! So why the major issue?

Well, mommy-shamers all over the world decided to criticize the singer’s choice when it came to how she put Birdie Mae down to sleep. That is because she took the picture while the beautiful infant was sleeping on her stomach.

A lot of her social media followers did comment on how adorable the baby is. However, many of them pointed out that the baby should be asleep on her back. They said that she is increasing the risk of SIDS from allowing her to sleep on her stomach.

That is because the American Academy of Pediatrics has constantly pushed all parents to put their babies to sleep on their backs since the 1990s. In doing so, parents can reduce the odds that their baby will have breathing issues while they are asleep. For some infants, breathing problems can prove to be fatal.

However, some parents worry that babies who sleep on their backs could choke if they happen to vomit during their sleep. Other parents stated that their children simply sleep better if they are put down on their bellies.

Simpson is more than likely quite used to public criticism, so she did not even respond to any of the advice or comments that were posted. Early this very month, she was also shamed for captioning a picture of breast milk with a phrase that sounded like it was a jab at those who decide to bottle feed.

Another time, parents shamed her husband for throwing their son Ace up into the air as they were swimming in their pool. It’s no wonder she is so used to being told she is in the wrong!
