Watching children reach a major milestone is emotional for any parent, and Jennifer Lopez is experiencing those feelings firsthand. The singer and actress recently celebrated as her 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme Muñiz, graduated from high school, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The milestone comes just weeks after Lopez admitted she had already begun to feel emotional as graduation season approached.
During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in May, Lopez revealed that simply talking about the ceremonies was enough to bring her to tears. “Tomorrow one of them graduates,” she said before quickly adding, “Don’t talk about it ‘cause we start crying.” When Jimmy Kimmel asked if she expected to cry during the graduation itself, Lopez laughed and answered, “Yeah,” before admitting, “I’ve been crying for two months.”
The proud mom has also spoken openly about how hard both teenagers worked to reach this moment. In a recent interview with Extra, Lopez shared that Max and Emme were accepted into all five colleges they applied to, with each receiving a scholarship offer. She explained that both have ADHD and learn differently, making their accomplishments even more meaningful. “I am so proud that they set goals for themselves,” she said. “I’m just so proud of them because they did what they said they were going to do, and they’re good people.”
As graduation day finally arrived, Lopez gave fans a heartfelt glimpse of the celebration that made every proud, emotional moment worth it.

Lopez shared the family celebration on Instagram, giving followers a rare look at one of the biggest milestones in her twins’ lives. One touching photo captured her embracing Max after the ceremony as he smiled while wearing several colorful graduation leis. She also shared moments featuring Emme in a graduation gown, including a photo in front of a glowing “Class of 2026” display and a close-up of a decorated graduation cap featuring horse silhouettes, golden stars and the handwritten message, “Not my last rodeo.”
The graduation memories were woven together with snapshots from Lopez’s everyday life, including moments from a recent photoshoot, relaxing at home, enjoying a giant croissant and chocolate in bed, and cupcakes inspired by her upcoming Netflix film, “Office Romance.” The carousel concluded with a simple message that read, “Beautiful means ‘be you to the full,’” reflecting both her outlook on life and the exciting future awaiting her children.
Fans quickly filled the comments with messages of support, celebrating not only Max and Emme’s achievement but also Lopez’s role as a devoted mother. “I loved all these moments and photos. You looking so beautiful and cute,” one follower wrote. Another commented, “I love you all!! Congratulations to the coconuts! So happy for them. You are a wonderful mother at all times.”
After weeks of talking about tears, college plans and watching Max and Emme prepare for adulthood, Lopez summed up everything she was feeling in just a few heartfelt words.
