The continued social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic has changed the way we live, including for celebrities. Many have taken to online outlets to continue to entertain us and to help spread positivity in this time of need. One such example was the One World: Together at Home concert spearheaded by Lady Gaga with Global Citizen.

The event celebrated frontline workers and featured performances from Gaga, Lizzo, John Legend, The Rolling Stones and more. Jennifer Lopez also took part, singing a cover of Barbra Streisand's 1964 song People, and ended up channeling the songstress during her performance.

Opening the video sitting in front of a lit-up tree, Jennifer looks both cozy and stunning –– wearing a sweatshirt up top, but pants that open up at the sides below, showing off her fantastic legs. The tree is beautiful and sets her aglow –– it's reminiscent of Christmas time or warm summer soirées at night.

She begins her performance with a touching message for everyone at home. After thanking Global Citizen, she says: "You know there's one thing that I realize more than anything during this whole time, and it's how much we all need each other." Wise words, and certainly ones that we could use right now.

Lopez then begins singing People, a ballad that was written for the musical Funny Girl, and sung by Barbra Streisand. The music is soft and romantic sounding, acting as the perfect complement to Jennifer's stunning voice, which is able to hit all of the high notes –– although she's often acting these days, she definitely hasn't lost her pipes!

What's more, the lyrics of the song perfectly fit with Jennifer's opening message. The song states: "People who need people / Are the luckiest people in the world / We're children, needing other children / And yet letting a grown-up pride / Hide all the need inside." She didn't need to say any more because she could sing it through this wonderful song.

J-Lo has had a huge last year, making waves with her role in Hustlers, as well as performing at the Superbowl halftime show with Shakira in January. Currently in lockdown with her fiancé Alex Rodriguez and their children, the couple were forced to postpone their wedding, like many others, due to coronavirus.

In times like this we really do need to rely on each other and think of our loved ones and those close to us, in order to get through this thing safely altogether. The sentiment from Jennifer Lopez is a beautiful one and couldn't be more suited to the One World: Together at Home concert.

Lady Gaga also chose a fitting song for the event, opening the concert with a cover of Nat King Cole's song Smile. The Together at Home concert is not a traditional fundraising event. On its Take Action page, Global Citizen outlines various ways that people can make a difference and help or donate money.
