Jennifer Lopez & Brett Goldstein Are Reportedly Dating After Denying It on Television

In June 2026, Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein sat on the “Today” show with Savannah Guthrie and addressed the question directly.

“Not dating,” Lopez said.

“Correct,” Goldstein added.

The Netflix rom-com they were promoting was called “Office Romance.” The on-screen chemistry between the two had been the subject of considerable speculation since production began in 2025. They denied it. They moved on. And then, four months later, they showed up at a Hollywood party separately and left in the same car.

A source confirmed to Page Six on October 19, 2026, that Lopez, 57, and Goldstein, 46, are dating — though the word used was “casual.” They have not addressed the new reports publicly. Neither representative has commented. The June “Not dating/Correct” exchange has since been screenshot and circulated at considerable volume across every corner of the internet that pays attention to these things.

Goldstein is best known internationally for writing and starring as Roy Kent in the Apple TV+ series “Ted Lasso” — a character whose emotional unavailability and eventual openness became one of the most warmly received character arcs of recent television. He wrote the role of Lopez’s love interest in “Office Romance” specifically with her in mind. “She was the only person on the list,” he told “Today” in June, which Guthrie noted was “admittedly a little romantic.”

Lopez finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck in February 2025 after two years of marriage. She had not been publicly linked to anyone since. She has been photographed alongside Goldstein at the Netflix Upfront in May 2026, at the “Office Romance” UK premiere in London in June, and now leaving a party in Los Angeles in October.

“Not dating.” “Correct.” The current evidence suggests the conversation has moved on.

Goldstein is a writer, actor, and comedian who spent years building a reputation in British comedy before “Ted Lasso” made him internationally famous. He co-wrote all three seasons of the show alongside Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, and Brendan Hunt — winning Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series and maintaining a tight creative hold on how Roy Kent’s story was told. He is not, by any available measure, someone who does things without intention.

Writing the part of Lopez’s love interest specifically for her — and saying publicly that she was “the only person on the list” — was noted at the time as unusually romantic for a professional denial. A source close to Lopez at the 2026 Golden Globes reported that Goldstein “fawns all over Jennifer, and she’s absolutely loving the attention.” Lopez, at the same event, told the audience that Goldstein was her favorite kisser. Both continued to deny dating publicly through June.

Lopez has spent 30 years in the most scrutinized romantic life in popular entertainment. The Affleck divorce was finalized in February 2025. She had not been publicly linked to anyone since — with the exception of Keith Urban, whom a source close to Lopez told the Daily Mail on October 15 she was not dating. The same week, Page Six confirmed Goldstein.

He wrote the part for her. She was the only person on the list. The rom-com they made together is called “Office Romance.” The sources say what is happening now is casual. The arc of the story, as any rom-com writer would recognize, suggests the third act is only beginning.
