Jennifer Lopez and Shakira shared the biggest stage of a musician's career by performing together at the halftime show at yesterday's Super Bowl LIV. The two superstars wowed audiences everywhere with their performances, and the whole night started with a hug that was posted on Instagram.

Her caption read "So excited to share the stage with you tonight @Shakira! ✨💕✨ Let’s show the world what two little Latin girls can do."

J. Lo sat down for an interview with Good Morning America along with her co-headliner the Friday before the show to tease a few details about their Sunday night performance saying:

"Two Latinas, doing this in this country at this time, it’s just very empowering for us," Lopez said. "And for me, I'm very proud to be able to help and put forth that message."

Shakira also emphasized her Latina pride with GMA, saying:

“Women, Latinas, and people of any ages. I think that J.Lo and I are here redefining paradigms about age, about race, about background. It doesn’t really matter where you’re from, how old you are … what matters is what you have to say. And we’re here, and we have a lot of stuff to say.”

Shakira had celebrated her 43rd birthday on the big day, celebrating on-stage with the 50-year-old Lopez.

The energetic 12-minute performance took audiences on two 6-minute journeys of the singers' careers. Shakira wanted the crowd to feel "That they just went to a great party, an all-inclusive party, a party that integrates cultures and diversity," she said to GMA.
