Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Were Spotted Jewelry Shopping In Capri Amid Reports They've Become ‘Serious’

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's rekindled romance has been the celebrity pairing of the summer, if not the year. For anybody who remembers the early aughts, "Bennifer" as they were dubbed, were the hottest couple in Hollywood. First meeting in 2001 on the set of their movie "Gigli," the couple began dating in 2002 and were incredibly public with their love. After getting engaged in November of that year, they looked destined for a lifetime together until all of a sudden they were over in 2004. The public never truly found out what happened between Bennifer, but it seems their story wasn't over.

After Lopez's engagement to Alex Rodriguez went south earlier this year, it wasn't long before the multihyphenate was pictured with Affleck, sparking rumors of a reunion. In the following weeks, the pair were spotted together multiple times, including on a trip to Wyoming. As more photos emerged, it became clear that the time for Bennifer 2.0 had arrived.

Then, during a sailing trip in Italy in honor of Lopez's birthday, the pop icon gave the world the unequivocal proof we'd been wanting. Posting a series of photos to her Instagram, one image pictured Lopez passionately kissing a man who very clearly was Affleck. Ever since the couple hasn't tried to hide their love as they did in the early stages of their reunion.

Now, after reports that the couple has become serious, TMZ revealed that the duo was spotted shopping for jewelry while on the Italian island of Capri. However, while they looked at expensive necklaces and earrings, it doesn't appear that they tried on any rings. Let's take a look.

According to TMZ, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck went shopping at jewelry store Faraone Mennella while on the island of Capri, off of Italy's coast. A spokesperson from the store told the news outlet that Lopez tried on a range of expensive necklaces and earrings, but notably missing from the lineup was rings. 

Specifically, the pop icon tried on a green tourmaline necklace worth $41,000, as well as colored hoop earrings from between $1,800 to $2,850. In the end, the couple didn't buy anything, but the spokesperson said that's quite common since most celebrities get in touch and get the items shipped to them later on. Apparently, they were acting flirty and appeared to be having fun while at the store.

The news about the loved-up couple comes shortly after a source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple was "serious." The source added:

"They have insane, on another level, chemistry. They are both super passionate and are head over heels with each other, just like they once were. This time around, however, they both really feel like this is it."

Another source spoke to E! this week and stated that the couple is "very happy together" and that they had "an amazing week" in Italy. They added:

"They spent as much time together as they could this summer and now will be getting back to work."

From what we've seen the couple appeared to be having the time of their lives while on their Italian yachting trip but ever the hard-working celebs, it appears that their summer fun is now over.

For now it's unclear whether the couple will choose to get married again, but all that matters is that they're having a good time together. E! previously reported that a source revealed Lopez and Affleck "are fully committed to each other" and that they're "not needing to get married again." They added:

“They have been meshing their lives and families and don't feel the need to get engaged yet or even tie the knot. They have both been there and don't feel it's necessary."

The source added:

"They are both very secure within their relationship, and Ben worships her. It's truly meant to be and everyone around them thinks they are a perfect match.”

It makes sense that this time around they're taking it slower than before, after all, both have been married before and it seems they truly are enjoying each other's company. However, if they do wish to get engaged at some point, it seems that they won't even have to shop for a ring. According to Lopez's former publicist Robert Shuter, he believes that she still has the iconic 6.1-carat pink diamond ring that Affleck originally proposed with back in 2002. He told Stylecaster in May of this year, "As far as I know, Jen has never returned the ring." He went on to describe just how incredible it is in person:

“It’s absolutely stunning. I was with her once, and it is blinding. I almost thought — forgive me, Jen — it almost was QVC-ish, ’cause it was so large! I didn’t think it was real! She said, ‘Don’t touch it, it’s a real ring.'”

Now that we've seen the return of Bennifer, maybe it's only a matter of time until we see the ring too!
