Jennifer Lopez Admits That She Felt She Was In “An Alternate Reality Or Universe” When She Gave Up Sugar To Get Fitter For Movie Role
Eliminating sugar from your diet is a popular way to feel better overall. But this can certainly be a challenge!
Though hard, one of the best ways to break a sugar addiction is to just not eat it for a period of time, usually 7-10 days.
Superstar Jennifer Lopez decided she was going to do just that. Well, actually, her trainer decided for her, when she was preparing for her role as a stripper in the movie "Hustlers".
As she admitted on the Ellen Degeneres Show, Lopez kind of freaked out at the initial thought. But once she told herself, “Okay, it’s only for 10 days,” she decided it was attainable.
Lopez says she even found herself thinking about the next time she’d be able to have a sweet treat again:
“I’m thinking about it all the time. I’m like, ‘When can I have sugar again?’”
But, as she forced herself to continue on the diet, her body became used to living without it and it became easier to cope.
“[The challenge was] really hard in the beginning... It was the discipline. I was like, ‘It’s only 10 days, c’mon, you can do this.’ And then it gets a little hard in the middle, and then by the end you’re like, okay.”
Believe it or not, the super fit star said by the end of 10 days, she might actually do it again!
