Jennifer Aniston Wants To Date Again 4 Years After Divorce But Any Suitors Must Meet Her "Criteria"

After rising to fame as Rachel Green on the hit television sitcom “Friends,” Jennifer Aniston has been one of the most beloved actresses to grace the world of entertainment. The role earned Aniston a handful of awards, and it’s clear that her career has only taken off since her breakthrough.
Between winning awards and constantly working, Aniston made sure to keep some time available in her personal life. She met and began dating fellow actor Brad Pitt in 1998, and their relationship instantly gained widespread media attention. They got married two years later and seemed to be happily in love. However, the couple shockingly announced they were going to end their marriage in 2005, and their divorce was finalized later that year.
Aniston didn’t give up on love, though, and in 2015, she married again. She and actor Justin Theroux started their relationship back in 2011 and got engaged the following year, before tying the knot in 2015. However, the couple separated at the end of 2017 and announced their divorce the following year.
Fortunately for Aniston, she has found some peace within her personal life over the years. She lives in a very “zen” filled home and has kept much of her private life out of the media aside from her previous relationships. On top of that, Aniston has stayed on a successful career trajectory and has also remained friends with her exes.
Nowadays, Aniston is ready for love again – but she has a few qualifications she’s looking for and a few mistakes that she hopes to not make again.
Learning From The Past

In an interview with People in June 2021, Aniston revealed that she is pretty content with her life.
“I’m in a really peaceful place,” she said. “I have a job that I love, I have people in my life who are everything to me, and I have beautiful dogs. I’m just a very fortunate and blessed human being.”
Aniston and Theroux purchased a home together in 2015. According to Architectural Digest, Aniston currently owns and lives in the 8,500-square-foot residence that gives her a “zen” feeling, despite being separated from Theroux.
The actress has not shied away from revealing some of her biggest regrets from her first marriage to Pitt, and what lessons she has learned since. In conversation with Vanity Fair back in Sep. 2005, Aniston said that she doesn’t regret the marriage itself, but that she wished it could have been different She also admitted to having made plenty of mistakes.
“I wouldn’t give over so much of myself, which I did at times,” she said. “It was that thing about being a nurturer; I love taking care of people, and I definitely put his needs before mine sometimes. It’s seamless; somewhere along the way, you sort of lose yourself.”
The actress explained that she’d always been like that in relationships – even with her own mother – but has since learned that it’s “not the healthiest,” and she worked on changing her old ways.
“I feel like I’ve broken the pattern now,” Aniston said. “I’ll never let myself down like that again. I feel like my sense of self is being strengthened because of it.”

Ready To Move Forward

When Aniston spoke with Bruce Bozzi on the podcast “Lunch with Bruce” in 2021, she revealed that she’s ready to date again now that it’s been a few years since her split with Theroux. “I think I’m ready to share myself with another,” she said, as she explained how she’s had time to really grow as an individual. She also talked about how the place she was in helped her “organically” progress with her career.
Even though Aniston is ready to open her heart up again, she has a few qualities that she hopes to find in her next partner.
“It’s impossible to guarantee perfection in an individual, but setting criteria can help you meet your match and narrow down the list,” Aniston explained.
Some of the qualities she looks for in a partner include, humor and “confidence – but not a cockiness.” On top of that, Aniston also said that she wants someone who is great with conversation and maintains a standard of fitness. “Fitness is important and not just about how you look,” the actress said. She went on to say that she wants to live as healthy and as long as possible, and wants a partner who feels the same.
However, that doesn’t mean that Aniston necessarily sees wedding bells in her future. Instead, she is searching for someone she can grow old with and have fun with and doesn’t partially need any legal documents alongside it. Aniston added:
“I’m interested in finding a fantastic partner and just living an enjoyable life and having fun with one another. That’s all we should hope for.”
