In a touching Instagram post, Jason Priestly paid tribute to his former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Luke Perry.

Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke on Wednesday, February 27. He passed away on Monday, March 4th. He was only 54 years old.

Jason Priestly admitted that it took him a few days to find the right words to express the pain he was feeling. Priestly and Perry had been friends for more than 29 years, and his friend and costar's sudden death has deeply affected Priestly.

Luke Perry had an impact on friends and fans alike. Despite playing infamous bad boy Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210, Perry truly cared about everyone around him.

In 2015, a routine colonoscopy revealed pre-cancerous growths in Luke's colon. Doctors were able to remove the growths, and Perry became a vocal advocate for cancer screening. He saw firsthand that cancer screening saves lives, and he wanted to use his public platform to encourage more people to talk to their doctors.

Ian Ziering, who played Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills, 90210, also posted a tribute on Instagram asking God to save Luke a seat at his table.

Beverly Hills, 90210 fans took to Jennie Garth's Instagram to express their disappointment when she chose to post a picture of her daughters instead of honoring Luke Perry.

Garth responded that Luke Perry didn't give an (expletive) about Instagram or Twitter. What he did care about were his children. Garth assured fans that Luke would have wanted her to share a picture of her daughters on International Woman's Day instead of a sappy about his life (and death).

Luke Perry's own daughter, 18-year old Sophie Perry, took to Instagram to defend herself when fans said she wasn't grieving "hard enough."

Sophie reminded naysayers that everyone grieves differently. She's dealing with the greatest loss she has ever suffered in the only way she knows how: by smiling through the tears. We think Luke would be proud of Sophie.
