Jason Aldean Feels 'Blessed' By His 4 Beautiful Children – Some Are Catching The 'Music Bug'

Jason Aldean is a country music star through and through. From a young age, he knew all he wanted to do was perform onstage, and with the encouragement of his family and the motivation he found within himself, he was able to hit the big time and become a familiar name in the country music scene. Now, he’s not just a country music star but a full-time dad, and his talents may just be something his children are keen on inheriting.

Born on Feb. 28, 1977, in Macon, Georgia, Aldean’s parents split when he was just 3 years old. However, his father remained a central figure in his life and passed on the skill of playing the guitar. His father wasn’t the only one who saw what Aldean could one day become. His mother, too, encouraged him to follow his passions and helped him book gigs at local halls. This carried on after Aldean graduated from high school, and by the age of 21, the young Aldean was headed to Nashville with guitar in hand and big dreams on his mind.

His first No. 1 hit came in 2005. Called “Why,” it was a track from his self-titled debut album that went on to sell more than one million copies and was certified platinum in 2007. Aldean has gone on to release 10 more studio albums, the latest being 2022’s “Macon, Georgia.” The album also featured a duet with him and fellow country music star Carrie Underwood called “If I Didn’t Love You.” The hard-hitting ballad won Single of The Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards 2022.

While Aldean’s career has gone from strength to strength, so too has his personal life. Married twice, the music star has four children, all of whom bring him great joy.

Aldean’s first marriage was to actress Jessica Ussery on Aug. 4, 2001. The couple had two children – Keeley Williams, who was born in 2003 and Kendyl Williams in 2007 – before they called it quits in 2013, citing irreconcilable differences. After the divorce, Aldean stepped out with his new girlfriend and future wife, “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr at the CMT Awards in 2014. Later that year, they announced their engagement and were married in March 2015. The couple welcomed their first child together, their son Memphis on Dec 1, 2017, before having a daughter Navy in 2019.

Brittany told Popculture.com that she and her husband have different parenting styles. “We parent very differently, he's definitely the disciplinarian. I am the sucker, but it's nice to just see him, he's a sucker for those girls. They could do no wrong. So he says he treats them all equally but… a little harder on Memphis."

His eldest child, Keeley, appears to have taken a liking to music in the same vein as her famous father. In 2018, the proud daddy posted a video on Facebook of his little girl with guitar in hand, attempting to play Aerosmith’sWalk This Way.” He told Us Weekly that Keeley was “getting the music bug” and “started playing guitar a couple of years ago.” He added: “The older ones are kind of starting to realize the magnitude of everything that I’ve done over the years now.”

On Aug. 21, 2022, Aldean posted a sweet tribute to his second child, Kendyl, on Instagram, describing her as the “sweetest, kindest, coolest kid I know,” and added he was “so proud of you and the person you have become.”

Aldean’s third child is also his only son, Memphis. In 2020, he told Us Weekly his son catches on quickly.

“He knows when I come on the radio. He knows it’s me. … I hope they think I’m cool.”

On March 16, 2022, Aldean posted an adorable clip of Memphis playing a toy guitar with his younger sister. He captioned it: “Uh oh. Looks like they got the bug. Next country duo comin your way in about 20 years.”

Meanwhile, big discussion about his youngest daughter started before she was even born.

“Like with Memphis, we made a list of names that we liked, and we'd go back every once in a while, and names that had fallen off we'd take off the list," Aldean told Taste of Country. “Britt wanted to name Memphis 'Roman' and I wasn't really feeling it. So when it came time for Navy, she asked, 'Do you care if we give her the middle name Rome?' and I was like, 'Works for me.'"

“I wanted them to have unique names — not weird, but unique," he added. "Having a name like Jason, it doesn't get much more common. I wanted them to have something a little cooler than that, but not like, crazy. I felt like both of their names were different. I don't know anybody else with those names."

While Navy is certainly the apple of Aldean’s eye, if you go by his social media, it appears the dad of four is fulfilled by his brood as they are.

“I have zero plans" to have more children, the star confessed, before he added: "To me, four healthy kids, I would feel blessed to have that. And Britt has been pregnant for two years so I don't think she's in any hurry to jump back into that, either.”
