Oscar-winning actress Jane Fonda got candid about going under the knife during her HBO documentary "Jane Fonda in Five Acts." The 81-year-old star opened up about having regrets about plastic surgery and feeling the need to alter yourself physically to feel good about yourself.

This isn't the first time Fonda has shared her views on her plastic surgery and the need to feel younger. In 2015, Fonda told W Magazine, "I did have plastic surgery. I’m not proud of the fact that I’ve had it. But I grew up so defined by my looks. I was taught to think that if I wanted to be loved, I had to be thin and pretty. That leads to a lot of trouble.”

The new documentary covers Fonda's life from childhood to her years in and out of the spotlight. According to People Jane also addresses in the documentary why she had work done, “I got tired of looking tired when I wasn’t,” she said.

The "Grace and Frankie" star also added:

“On one level, I hate the fact that I’ve had the need to alter myself physically to feel that I’m OK, I wish I wasn’t like that. I love older faces. I love lived-in faces," she said adding, "I wish I was braver. But I am what I am.”
