Some movies are iconic for their time. It is impossible to think of the movie without becoming nostalgic for the era of its release. The Breakfast Club has become synonymous with the 1980s and The Lost Boys was just as iconic for that era.

With the style of the jackets, the earrings and the wild 80’s hair, everything about this movie defined the 1980’s style. The movie had a huge effect on the culture of the time, especially the pop culture. It made Keifer Sutherland a star.

He has been one of the leading actors in Hollywood since the 80’s and is one of the most recognizable names. He also became famous for introducing the infamous “two Coreys” to each other.

The Two Coreys

Corey Haim and Corey Feldman became great friends during the making of the movie and they also became one of Hollywood’s tragic friendship. However, despite the tragedy, they also had a huge impact on pop culture.

The Lost Boys instantly became a cult classic and a box office hit. It was the launching pad of several Hollywood stars including Joel Schumacher. Joel Schumacher went on to star in two Batman movies and The Phantom of the Opera.

The Lost Boys Sequel

Despite the impact of the movie, it was never turned into a sequel. Either Hollywood recognized the gem that shouldn’t be tampered with or they could never get the script quite right. In 2008, there was an attempt to make a sequel called The Lost Boys: The Tribe. However, the sequel was never destined to make it to the big screen. Like many sequels before it, it might be for the best if the sequel is forgotten.

However, many TV producers and movie producers alike have wanted to reboot the movie into a series or another story.

A Big Announcement from the CW

The CW recently made a huge announcement for fans of the 80’s horror classic. They are about to bring back The Lost Boys with all of the glam and quirks or the original.

The network bought the rights to the tale to remake it into a TV series. They will be collaborating with the Veronica Mars veteran, Rob Thomas. Since it is the CW, everyone knows the story will be full of plenty of brooding teens and drama, which was exactly why everyone loved the original movie.

However, it wasn’t an easy road for the network. They originally greenlit the project back in 2016, but they never ordered a pilot to be made. Many reports say the network was excited about The Lost Boys but they just never got it off the ground.
