"It's Fun": Actress Helena Carter Attended An Exclusive Celebrity Sleepover Hosted By Queen Elizabeth At Windsor Castle

Actress Helena Bonham Carter is known for her ability to bring her unique flair to her countless acting roles. The actress is currently slated to play Princess Margaret, sister of British Queen Elizabeth II, in the Netflix series “The Crown.” Helena recently shared stories of her unique connections to the royal family and one sleepover she attended at Windsor Castle with the Queen. 

According to Express, one anecdote that is garnering quite a bit of attention is news of a royal slumber party hosted during the Easter season by her majesty Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Phillip approximately a decade ago.

According to Helena, the guests were several luminaries from the entertainment industry including fellow actors Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz as well as director Tim Burton. "It’s fun! Rachel Weisz was there with James Bond. I stayed in Prince Charles’s rooms," the actress said to Radio Times.

Helena recounts to the Radio Times as cited by Express that in addition to touring Windsor Castle, the guests were treated to the opportunity to examine unique royal artifacts that were selected based on their interests or roles they had played in the past.

The slumber party concluded the following morning after a royal breakfast, giving the guests the unique opportunity to spend the night in Windsor castle.

Helena’s connection to the royal family is not just based on roles where she has played royal characters. One of her uncles who was a member of the royal guard once dated the very same Princess Margaret she will be portraying in “The Crown.”

The actress revealed that as part of her preparation for the role, she sought out the guidance of none other than Princess Margaret herself with the help of a medium.

According to Helena, she asked Princess Margaret if she approved of her being selected to play her, and the princess replied that she preferred her to the other actresses that were considered. Helena even said the spirit of the deceased princess told her that to truly portray her, she would need to master the unique way that she smoked.
