Is She Moving In With Ben — Jennifer Lopez Visits School In Los Angeles

Ever since the breakup of Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's relationship earlier this year, the 51-year-old actress has been one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelorettes. But before there was even a moment to consider who the singer/dancer/actress might begin a relationship with next, the world was stunned to learn of the rumors that she was reuniting with her ex-fiancé, Ben Affleck. 

For anybody who remembers the early aughts, "Bennifer" as they were dubbed, were the hottest couple in Hollywood. First meeting in 2001 on the set of their movie "Gigli," the couple began dating in 2002 and were incredibly public with their love. After getting engaged in November of that year, they looked destined for a lifetime together until all of a sudden they were over by early 2004. The public never truly found out what happened between Bennifer, but it seems their story wasn't finished.

After Lopez's engagement to Rodriguez went south earlier this year, it wasn't long before the multihyphenate was pictured with Affleck, sparking rumors of a reunion. In the following weeks, the pair were spotted together multiple times, including on a trip to Wyoming. As more photos emerged, it became clear that the time for Bennifer 2.0 had arrived.

Recently, Lopez was spotted in Los Angeles touring schools in the city. Having been based in Miami for the last few years — where her two children attend school — it appears that Lopez may be making the move back to L.A. It signals that she and Affleck may be getting serious already, and considering their past, it makes sense that they'd waste no time in continuing their life together.

As reported by TMZ, Jennifer Lopez was spotted touring at least one Los Angeles school last week. Looking effortlessly stunning in a flowy cream trench coat, heels, and her hair slicked into a ponytail, the actress even carried a notepad with her. She was also spotted spending time with Ben Affleck at his home on L.A.'s westside. 

Lopez shares twins Emme Maribel and Maximillian David, 13, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Holding primary physical custody of their children, the twins have been attending school in Miami for the last few years, since Lopez was based there during her relationship with former professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez. The news that she is checking out schools suggests she'll be making L.A. her main home and bringing her children with her. Prior to the pandemic, Emme and Max were attending school in person in Miami but ever since, their learning has been virtual. A source told Page Six:

“She has to ensure that she is taking her children into account ... They are her priority.”

Moving to L.A. would certainly bring Lopez and Affleck closer, as currently, they have been jetting all over the United States to see each other. Affleck was first spotted visiting Lopez at her Los Angeles home back in April before he later visited her in Miami. They also made a trip to Wyoming together, where they visited the ultra-exclusive Yellowstone Club. 

Although there's no official word on the couple moving in together already, this time around Bennifer is moving at breakneck speed with their romance. They've been photographed together so many times in the last two months that they're obviously not bothered about who sees them, they're just prioritizing being together and happy.

First meeting on the set of their 2001 movie "Gigli," the couple is believed to have first started dating in the middle of 2002, after Lopez's marriage to backup dancer Chris Judd officially ended. Before the year was out, the couple immortalized their relationship in the music video for Lopez's hit "Jenny from the Block," which played into the media and paparazzi's obsession with their relationship. It was also at this time that they announced their engagement. 

But by the middle of 2003, cheating rumors seemed to cool their romance. When "Gigli" premiered in Aug. 2003 it flopped at the box office. Then, after intense media scrutiny, the couple postponed their Sep. 2003 wedding, stating at the time:

"When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realised that something was awry. We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised."

Sadly, their wedding wasn't meant to be, as the couple officially split by the beginning of 2004. Lopez went on to marry Anthony just six months later in June 2004, later revealing that it "was a Band-Aid on the cut" of the wound that the breakup with Affleck had left, which "hadn't been stitched or healed."

In later years, however, Affleck and Lopez were known to be friendly. Page Six reports that a source said, “They are friends … they’ve never not been.” This makes their recent reunion, nearly two decades after their first go at a relationship, all the more exciting. For now, it seems that the couple is incredibly loved up and planning a future together. We'll just have to wait and see how things go for them in round two.
