Royal fashion has been making and breaking trends since before Princess Diana's iconic looks. We'll take a look at a couple of Middleton, Markle, and The Queen's top matching fits for a little trendsetting inspiration.

No color quite sets the royal tone like a deep blue. The three royal ladies stepped into royal blue dresses of different shapes, adding a touch of chic to their style. In March 2017, Queen Elizabeth wore a matching royal blue hat, dress, and button-up coat to the opening of the Iraq and Afghanistan memorial. Paired with black accessories, like heeled penny loafers, gloves, and purse, her look was one of refinement and class, much like the Queen herself.

Kate and Meghan adopted this royal blue color in 2018 in the form of a just below the knee column dress. Meghan wore a Jason Wu sleeveless dress, accessorizing with a black clutch and blue heels. Kate paired her Jenny Packham trumpet-sleeved dress with a nude clutch.

The three lovely ladies have each opted for a bright yellow version of their favorite looks. Beginning the Buckingham Palace trend, Queen Elizabeth wore her staple button-up coat and hat in a happy yellow to the 2016 Royal Ascot. The color gave off a springtime vibe with subtle hints of sky blue and white gloves.

Not long later, Meghan took on the canary yellow look with a sleeveless Brandon Maxwell dress and nude heels. At the "Your Commonwealth" Youth Challenge reception, she brought this bold version of the color to light. Following suit, Kate donned a capped-sleeved yellow Dolce & Gabbana dress to Wimbledon. Taking cues from Meghan, Kate paired her look with a nude bag.

The Queen first wore the iconic red dress with a button-up coat to a 1989 visit at St. Anne's Church. Kate and Meghan followed suit at the 2016 Royal Tour of Canada and New York's Today Show, respectively. These royal ladies look fearless in red, and we don't doubt they feel empowered when they wear what they feel best in.

The three vastly different royal ladies, Queen Elizabeth, Kate, and Meghan, each took their own spin on classic fashion styles. These top looks transcend generation and can be easily adapted to fit one's own style. The only real question is which look will you try first! Let us know below. And be sure to pass these outfits to fellow royal fans and fashion-lovers.
