Inspiring Film Shows Caged Animals Experiencing Their First Taste Of Freedom

It’s hard not to feel some sympathy for those poor animals that have to live their lives behind cages. Although some rescue organizations are forced to keep animals caged for their own protection and many zoos do a lot of preservation work, far too many animals around the world are being locked away so that they can be parts of uncaring, unethical zoos, circuses, and experiments. These animals live their lives in miserable conditions, forced to be nothing more than a money-maker for those who own them.

The thought is heartbreaking and, thankfully, some rescue organizations are working hard to end the torture that these caged animals endure. Working with the animals, the volunteer teams prepare them for life in the wild before releasing them back into their natural habitats.

One group realized that the experience needed to be seen by the world, so they uploaded video footage of the animals being released from their cages. The film is now going viral, and it’s no wonder! There is nothing quite as fantastic as watching these animals get released so that they can enjoy the great outdoors for the first time ever.

Called “First Taste of Freedom”, the video starts with a little fox tentatively stepping out of its cage into the wild and then a chicken that is placed in a bed of hay where it can free roam. Next, we see a hound dog that was probably used for breeding step onto the grass for the first time. The images that follow show dozens of animals released from captivity.

The video showcases the foxes with an explanation that they were orphans who were raised in captivity and are now being released. Some monkeys involved in a lab experiment enjoy the sunshine for the first time in their lives after a rescue, and they hug each other with excitement. Words flash across the screen, telling us that these creatures will finally have the chance to be animals again.

It’s heartbreaking to think of animals being held in inhumane conditions, but videos like this help to remind us that there is hope even in the saddest of situations. Watch the video for yourself and see if it doesn’t bring a smile to your face!
