Insider Reveals Blake Shelton Is Building Nursery And Crib After News He And Gwen Stefani Are Having A Baby

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are one of Hollywood's most adorable couples. From the beginning of their romance in 2015 when they were both coaches on "The Voice," to their frequent social media posts about each other where they often declare their love for one another, the couple has shared an incredibly sweet high-profile romance for over seven years.

After dating for over five years, during which both would frequently gush about the other during interviews and on social media, it became a hot topic about whether they'd ever get married, with the couple frequently having to field questions about any rumored engagements. Then in October 2021, Shelton proposed to Stefani inside a chapel that he'd built himself on his Oklahoma ranch. The news spread that the couple was finally engaged, with Shelton writing on his Instagram post that Stefani saved his 2020.

In July 2021, the couple had their gorgeous wedding at Shelton's Oklahoma ranch, which was officiated by none other than Carson Daly, the host of "The Voice." Since then, the couple has been living in wedded bliss.

Although Shelton became a wonderful and caring stepfather to Stefani’s children with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, fans of the two singers had been asking when the two were planning to have a child of their own.

Well, it seems that the time has come, as a source revealed to Life & Style Magazine in December 2022 that Stefani is finally pregnant at 53! Shelton is sure to make a great dad, as he's already had practice being a stepfather.

The insider added that Shelton has already started preparing for their new bundle of joy, including some building handiwork and, naturally, buying a mini cowboy hat and boots. Read on to learn more about Stefani and Shelton's exciting baby news.

Stefani's first relationship in the public eye was with Rossdale, the lead singer and guitarist of the band Bush. The pair met when No Doubt opened for Bush at a holiday concert in 1995. The couple married in September 2002, but they were not meant to last, and their divorce was finalized in 2016. They welcomed three sons together: Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.

However, when Stefani joined “The Voice” for its seventh season in 2014, she met Shelton, who was at the time also finalizing his divorce from Miranda Lambert. Stefani and Shelton found solace in their shared experience, and Stefani said that because of Shelton, she had hope.

"It went from horrible to, like, hopeful and, like, 'Wow, God, you just don't know what's gonna happen next," Stefani said to Harper’s Bazaar.

The pair started dating soon after, and the world watched as their friendship grew into a romance straight out of a fairy tale. But when the two finally tied the knot, Shelton did not only marry Stefani but also her three sons. Entering fatherhood was a big deal for Shelton, but he continued to embrace the role. According to Life & Style Magazine, it was “scary” for Shelton to balance the role of being a friend to the three boys and being a role model for them.

“It’s one thing for me to be with the kids all the time and be their buddy, but you do have to consider after a while that they start to listen to things that you say,” he told the magazine. “There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with that. I don’t know if (being a step-dad is) hard, or harder, or not as hard, as being an actual biological parent.”

It looks like Shelton might finally get the answer to his question, as it's been reported that he is going to be a biological father, as Stefani, 53, is allegedly finally pregnant with their first child after numerous attempts to conceive.

In an article from Life & Style Magazine, an apparent source close to the couple has confirmed that they are expecting. Stefani apparently wanted “nothing more than to give Blake his own child" and it seems that dream has come true.

The source revealed that the two had failed to conceive naturally, so “The Sweet Escape” singer underwent numerous IVF treatments throughout the years. However, initial attempts were unsuccessful.

“She’d given up on it because it wasn’t working and it was too emotionally grueling, but then she wanted to give it one more try,” the source furthered.

And alas, trying is indeed for the patient and prayerful. After visiting a top specialist in Los Angeles, it seems the two have finally conceived: “Gwen prepared herself – eating healthy, meditating, going to acupuncture sessions. You name it, Gwen did it.”

Now, it seems like the couple is focusing on family life, especially with the arrival of a new baby. Per the source, Shelton “wants a girl," and "he jokes there's enough testosterone in the house already." The proud father-to-be is already getting hands-on in preparing their Oklahoma ranch for their first baby together. The source shared:

"Blake's already bought little pink cowgirl boots and a cowgirl hat. He's doing some nursery DIY and even is building the crib himself. It's all adorable."

Considering Shelton built the chapel on his ranch where he and Stefani got engaged and then married, we're sure the nursery will be nothing less than stellar. After marrying at the sprawling Oklahoma ranch in 2021, the couple appears to be settling in well there alongside Stefani's three boys, as it offers an escape from the busy world of Los Angeles, California.

"We get away from everything (in Los Angeles), and we're just us. It truly does feel different. That's where I feel the most comfortable, happy, and safe,” Shelton said about their Oklahoma home.

The country music star is also making sure his wife is well taken care of. Life & Style Magazine reported:

"Blake's running around after (Stefani), making sure she's taking it easy. ... It's been such a long and stressful road to get this far, so he's going all-out to ensure she's calm and relaxed."

It was eagle-eyed fans who spotted the couple's plus one on the red carpet of the NYWICI Matrix Awards on Oct. 26, 2022, as Stefani had what appeared to be a baby bump barely concealed beneath her fitted pink dress.

“Yay! I’m so happy for you both! Congratulations on increasing your family. Many blessings from our good Lord above!” a fan posted.

“Baby bump?? Blake, you’d make a great father!!” one user shared.

In anticipation of the baby's arrival, Life & Style Magazine reported that none other than Taylor Swift will be hosting "a small, animal-themed baby shower" for the couple. Other celebrities will be present, as well as "cupcakes, fun games and mocktails." Apparently, "Taylor loves throwing parties!"
