Michael Douglas is an American actor and producer who has made his own mark on Hollywood and received many accolades. Some of his achievements include two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award.
Michael is best known for several films, including “A Chorus Line,” “Fatal Attraction,” and “Wall Street.” He has also become popular among the younger crowd by joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dr. Hank Pym. He has appeared in many superhero films, including “Ant-Man,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” and “Avengers: Endgame.”
While he is known for his vast filmography and being the husband of actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael was also married to one Diandra Douglas.
Formerly Diandra Luker, Diandra rose to fame through her marriage to the Academy Award-winning actor and for her accomplishments and endeavors.
Born on Jan. 6, 1956, in Majorca, Spain, Diandra pursued a career in production and film before developing a passion for philanthropy and fostering her business mind. She met Michael in 1976, and they tied the knot the next year when she was just 22 years old. Their marriage brought her into the limelight as she accompanied Michael through his meteoric rise in Tinseltown.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Diandra became increasingly involved in film production, exhibiting her artistic craft in the entertainment industry. She has also devoted her time to pursuing charitable causes and advocating for children’s health and access to education.
Sadly, the couple’s union lasted only until 1995, and they finalized their divorce in 2000. Unbeknownst to many, Michael made a hefty payout to Diandra after they divorced, giving the former producer everything she needs today.

At 80, Michael is married to Zeta-Jones and they share two children, Dylan and Carys Douglas. Given the pair’s 25-year age gap, Michael has been subjected to ageist comments and was even mistaken for his children’s grandfather.
Speaking to The Telegraph in 2024, Michael recalled a time when he was confused for someone else when he visited them at college.
“This is not grandfather’s day, this is parents’ day. I say, ‘I am a parent!’” he recalled being said during an interaction at the time. “That was a rough one.”
In the same interview, he admitted that having a second family and raising children in his 50s gave him a newfound sense of parenting principles. He also confessed that it has allowed him to become a better parent than he had previously been to his 45-year-old son, Cameron Douglas.
“Cameron suffered a lot from that time,” Michael told the outlet, sharing that he was “overwhelmed and overloaded” by his rising career while raising his eldest son with Diandra.
According to the actor, his family life had taken “third place” in his priorities at the time – a stark contrast to raising a family with Zeta-Jones.
“This has been a great time for me but I’ve been very fortunate,” Michael shared about his family life now, and his marriage to Zeta-Jones. “Catherine and I have been together, it’ll be 25 years this year. So it’s been a good ride and I’ve been very fortunate, happy with the choices that I’ve made and now am kind of really backing off and smelling the roses a little more, travelling more.”

While Michael seems happier than ever nowadays, his relationship with his first family, specifically with Diandra and Cameron, was markedly different.
Harper’s Bazaar described Diandra and Michael’s split as “one of the largest divorce settlements in Hollywood history” because of Michael’s eye-popping $45 million payment to his now ex-wife. Aside from that, the couple’s Santa Barbara, California, estate was also awarded to her while they share their S’Estaca property in Spain.
While many believed Diandra would be satisfied with the huge divorce settlement she received in 2000, they were left surprised when she returned to court in 2011 to demand more money.
According to the publication, Diandra claimed that because she had been with her husband when the original 1987 “Wall Street” film was made, when the sequel, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” was released in 2010, she demanded that she should get half of the income that Michael earned, too.
After filing her lawsuit, she was then informed that Michael had been diagnosed with throat cancer two months earlier. She was then widely criticized for demanding money from a sick man.
“Michael didn’t know he was ill, I didn’t know he was ill, and the gods didn’t know he was ill,” Diandra told Harper’s Bazaar. “I am not into going after sick people for things that don’t belong to me.”
Eventually, Diandra lost the case and received no money from the film’s box office takings. Since then, Diandra has lived peacefully on their shared estate, S’Estaca in Mallorca, which offers a breathtaking view of Sa Foradada in Spain. However, in 2019, Douglas bought Diandra’s estate shares, prompting her to move to Ibiza.
She now spends time on the beautiful island with her 20-year-old twin sons from a surrogate and her adopted daughter from Russia.
