All of us have dreams but, sadly, many put their dreams on the back burner or simply give up when things don’t work as quickly as planned. One man in Palu, India, knows all about how difficult it can be to wait for one’s plan to come to fruition.

Balu had a vision of opening an animal medical clinic that was mobile, but he had to save for years to ever make it a reality. Now, after a decade of hard work and pinching pennies, Balu is seeing his dream come true.

Balu has a heart for injured and mistreated animals, so he wanted a way to make sure that they could receive the medical treatment and care they needed to thrive.

Balu used his ten-years worth of savings to purchase a van that was turned into a sort of ambulance for pets and can transport animals back and forth to vet hospitals and shelters. He earns money by charging pet owners 15 cents a mile to take their dogs to the vet, a fee that many people are happy to pay, this video chronicles.

But Balu doesn’t just use his ambulance to earn money. Instead, he also catches stray dogs to give them medical care and help them find new homes.

During his time working with the animals, he has learned how to care for wounds and provide medication. Sometimes, vets and animal centers even turn to Balu for advice and assistance with their animals.

Catching stray dogs and handling them is a huge task, but Balu’s assistant assures us that this man is up for the task.

On top of treating stray dogs, Balu also keeps 5-6 of them at his own home where he gives them continuous care. While most of us would take stray animals to the shelter, Indian centers are too full, leaving Balu with no choice but to take them home with him.

Despite all his hard work, Balu faces many critics, the video says. In his area, stray dogs are generally considered pests and a lot of people are disgusted with Balu for trying to help them.

No matter how many people criticize him, he isn’t about to let their words stop him. He says that this is now his life and that he plans to continue working with dogs forever.
