Independent Dog Commutes Alone To Play In Dog Park Daily

Man's best friend has always relied on people for companionship and care. Of course, we do not mind taking care of our beloved pet dogs because we form unbreakable bonds with them.

Most dogs would never leave their owner's sides if given the chance, but not Seattle's famous bus-riding dog, Eclipse. Back in 2018, the dog decided to take the bus as a way to get herself to the park. It all happened by chance one day when her owner didn't make it on the bus, so Eclipse started taking herself.

Eclipse is an 8-year-old, Labrador-Mastiff mix (Mastador) who has stolen the hearts of everyone in her neighborhood.

Most owners usually enjoy taking their dogs along for rides when they go on the bus or train. Seattle's sensation, Eclipse has been given her own bus pass on her collar and takes the bus to go to the local dog park and then takes another bus to go back home. At the dog park, Eclipse frolics and plays with her friends for a few hours and then goes back home when she is tired.

The passengers and bus drivers of the area are well familiar with Eclipse and are enthusiastic when she makes her presence known. One of the passengers who adores Eclipse is Robbie Lauren, who made a Facebook post about the beloved dog.

"This is Eclipse. Every day she leaves her house, by herself, and takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a couple of hours getting exercise and making friends, and then takes the bus back home again," she wrote in her post.

She explains how Eclipse's unique behavior began:

"It started when her owner, Jeff Young, was taking too long when the bus arrived, so she impatiently ran ahead and got on the bus by herself. The bus driver recognized her and dropped her off at the dog park. After several more trips by herself, Jeff started letting her go on her own and she always comes back home a couple of hours later."

Eclipse is incredibly smart and has taken up a sense of responsibility, as she always knows when it is time to head back home. A creature of habit and impatience, Eclipse continues to ride the bus to and from the dog park to this day, catching the eyes of strangers around her.

What's awesome is that Eclipse's lone journey would also have not been possible without the love of her fellow passengers and even the law enforcement "have given their approval as long as the bus drivers are okay with the arrangement."

"All of the bus drivers know her and she makes them smile, and many of the regular passengers enjoy seeing her every day and will often sit down next to her. She makes everybody happy," Robbie comments in her post.

How could she not? Eclipse is a young, independent dog who takes the bus by herself to the dog park every day. After spending a couple of hours there, she takes another bus to get herself back home. She always goes home after a few hours and never misses the bus.
